Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina

Alternative location: Ciudad de México, México  

You will be part of Compliance and Risk Management team within the Legal Department and will support Crop Protection and Seeds Business.

Here is how this role will be critical to our business:

  • Lead investigations and root cause analysis; run analytics and help the LAN and LAS Territories (together the “Territory) to establish standards for compliance & provide collaboration for the assurance of a complaint business at the local level.
  • Closely interact with other compliance functions within the Territory to increase the impact and visibility of the compliance function and to strengthen the compliance function across all operations in the Territory.
  • Facilitate the Tools for lawyers for implementation of Compliance awareness, trainings and compliance risk mitigation within the various business teams
  • Openly and transparently share compliance analytics with lawyers and leaders to enable them to drive change
  • Pro-actively identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk in the Territory; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Ensure that Compliance issues/concerns within the Territory are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
  • Share learnings from Territory with compliance colleagues in Territories/Region/Global and continuously help improving Syngenta Compliance program.
  • Respond to alleged violations of laws, regulations, Syngenta Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, etc. by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures in line with the Investigation Code of Practice.
  • Review policies, procedures, etc. to ensure that they are in compliance both with relevant laws, regulations, etc. and the Syngenta Code of Conduct, policies, etc.
  • Deploy global compliance policies in the Territory for the legal team to roll out  within the business.
  • Report regularly and promptly to the Global Head of Compliance and Risk Management on all relevant Compliance matters.
  • Conduct Trainings.

Qualifications

Mandatory requirements for this position: 

 

  • Sound experience on leading Compliance in complex geographies and different culture & risk profile.
  • Solid knowledge about elements of Ethicial Compliance Program
  • Exposure to a myriad of cultures and program maturity level and how to ensure a consistent standard across this diversity
  • Previous consistent experience conducting compliance investigations
  • Fluent or advanced English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of Navex tool (desirable)
  • Availability to work in Buenos Aires (Argentina); will also consider candidates located in other locations within the region (México)
  • Skills for handling difficult conversations
  • Experience with Risk Management considered a plus
  • Previous experience on labor law management will be considered a plus
