Job description

We are seeking a Customer Service Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service support for our agricultural product lines including Field Crops, Cereal Seed, and Crop Protection. You will work closely with account managers to facilitate commercial processes and handle order-to-cash activities. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and the ability to support both internal and external stakeholders while contributing to our team's business objectives.

This role would be an ideal next step for those individuals who seek to build long-term customer relationships and thrive in a cross-functional commercial environment.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Responsibility for customer order management across all sales divisions and liaising with warehouse/transport provider to ensure on time in full delivery to customers
  • Communication with the UK commercial unit of potential upsides or shortfalls and stock-out and with 3rd party customers relating to their orders and requirements
  • Handling information flow with reference to the expected availabilities/problems for Seed and Crop Protection supply and master data management
  • Execution of price maintenance in both SAP systems for customers and products, along with on invoice discount set up
  • Participation in multi-disciplined projects and continuous improvement initiatives with group overlapping activities  
  • Managing and monitoring return shipments and coordinating credit process and follow complaint handling procedure related to the sales division.
  • Conduct sales analyses upon request and advise customers on non-technical product enquiries and refer technical enquiries appropriately

Qualifications and required experience

  • Experience within customer service (ideally within a B2B Customer Service environment)
  • Basic knowledge of sales and production processes or the openness learn
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft office, Computer based telephony and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills with ability to meet seasonal deadlines
  • Customer-focused with high attention to detail and quality standards
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Good spoken and written communication skills

Additional Information

The role may require some travel within the UK for customer service related activities.

Syngenta’s site at Cambridge is the location for the commercial operations of Syngenta's Crop Protection, Seeds, Flowers and Lawn & Garden businesses in the UK and Ireland. Activities include sales, marketing, technical support, customer support, HR, Finance and administration functions.
