As part of Syngenta Canada, the Business Insights Analyst is instrumental in converting complex data into actionable insights. This key team member will be responsible for in-depth trend analysis, constructing predictive models, developing impactful dashboards and data products, and effectively communicating findings to steer strategic decision-making. Through close collaboration with cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will drive process enhancements and pinpoint lucrative growth opportunities, making a significant impact on the organization's success. 

This position has a flexible work location and can be based in Calgary, AB, Guelph, ON, and we are open to remote work arrangements across Canada.  

Duties:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address business opportunities and articulate known problems that data analytics can solve.
  • Analyze large data sets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights while performing direct analytics and ad-hoc studies from both structured and unstructured data.
  • Create and maintain predictive models and machine-learning algorithms to support business goals and untap business potential.
  • Communicate key insights across all levels of the organization and develop frameworks, models, and processes to operationalize findings.
  • Collaborate with data owners and business stakeholders to identify data elements to address reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with internal teams, using data to push continuous improvement in their processes and projects.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Educational background in a quantitative related field (e.g.: Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience 
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience with SQL, Python (or R), MS Excel or other tools to manipulate and analyze data efficiently for complex analysis and problem-solving 
  • Experience with BI tools such as Salesforce Analytics, Tableau, PowerBI, or Qlik for data analysis, visualization, and reporting 
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting comprehensive business performance analysis 
  • Ability to interpret data insights and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • Strong command of statistical analysis techniques, with a track record of applying advanced methodologies to derive meaningful conclusions from complex datasets. 
  • In-depth understanding of best practices in presenting data, ensuring that insights are communicated in a clear, compelling, and actionable manner. 
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Forecasting models, sales performance analysis, customer insights, and operations data analysis, such as inventory optimization 
  • Exposure to or experience in building machine learning models to predict trends and behaviors applied in a business context.
