Job description

Syngenta is seeking an exceptional Business Development and Innovation Head to drive our innovative solutions and strategic growth in the agricultural market. This pivotal role will spearhead the ideation, strategy, creation, and management of breakthrough technologies and services that deliver value to growers, cooperatives, and channel partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of innovative business solutions beyond Syngenta's core business, strategically focused on the specific needs of growers, cooperatives, and channel partners
  • Identify, test, introduce, and operationalize cutting-edge technologies and solutions, enhancing the capabilities of relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive continued profitable growth in Syngenta Central Europe through the successful implementation of innovative solutions
  • Encourage an agile/startup mindset and ways of working across teams to accelerate innovation
  • Foster strong internal and external connections to capture trends and incubate new innovative technologies, screening potential partners, startups, and innovation forums
  • Report directly to the Commercial Unit Head Central and serve as a member of the Central leadership team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams from commercial operations (Marketing, Sales), information technology, Technical Support and Sustainability, and other departments as required

Qualifications

Critical Knowledge:

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial/business roles
  • Strong commercial thinking and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Project management experience
  • Preferrable knowledge of the agricultural industry but not required
  • Expertise in new market trends (services, digital, sustainability, bios, etc.)

Critical Skills:

  • Strategic and innovative leadership
  • Entrepreneurship approach
  • Influencing team leader with experience managing teams within international organizations
  • Coaching and mentoring abilities, empowering teams to learn and perform at their highest potential while embracing diversity in thinking
  • Data-driven decision-making, able to bring order to chaos and drive large, highly complex initiatives

Critical Experience:

  • Proven expertise in strategy, solution design, product development, and business growth through innovation
  • Experience in transforming ideas into real business solutions, delivering on time and to a high standard
  • Successful track record of building strong client and partner relationships, combined with market expertise to specify, strategize, and define growth opportunities
  • 3-5 years experience in people management on multicounty level with strong track record of proven execution
  • Experience in Business Development Management on similar position
