MAKE A DIFFERENCE
In this role you will work within a multidisciplinary global team to discover, define, and design experiences that empower farmers to work more effectively and efficiently by utilizing our data-driven solutions. 

You will lead the business analysis activities for multiple R&D capabilities; ensuring that cross process opportunities are identified, understood, and leveraged. Maintains product backlogs and creates user stories describing the changes that are required.

Also ensure an effective engagement strategy. Interface with key subject matter experts and leaders at various levels. Work with members of Syngenta IT Leadership to create and maintain a visible and well understood stakeholder map and governance landscape.

Together with key stakeholders, the role establishes direction for IT solutions and related ways of working.

You will ensure that an up-to-date investment portfolio across multiple R&D capabilities is maintained in order that priorities are clear and directly drive business needs & strategy.

Ensures business needs are translated into user stories that enable the incremental delivery of value to R&D through IT solutions.

We all have a critical role to play and add value. Here is how this role will help:

  • Defining and maintaining a 3-to-5-year IT strategy across multiple R&D capabilities aligned to drive business goals, ensuring business value is generated. 
  • Ensure data ownership and integrity by working with key stakeholders and technical leads to develop:
    • Data Pipelines
    • Data Products 
    • Microservices 
    • APIs (Application Programming Interface) 
  • Defining and maintaining a portfolio of investment in IT solutions aligned to a 3-year strategy
    • Develops business cases for initiatives
  • Managing multiple product backlogs in the format of prioritized user stories
    • Ensuring all User Stories are INVESTable
    • Working effectively with key stakeholders to ensure the backlog is accurate and continuously prioritized
  • Be an active member of the analyst community, contributing to setting best practice, peer review, mentoring and coaching 
  • Promotes a culture of considerate risk taking
  • Lead and drive the development of a digital future landscape across multiple R&D capabilities together with key stakeholders in those areas
  • Identify opportunities to create breakthroughs
  • Identify strong and engaged product owners in the areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR. 
We are highly people-focused – we look for professionals who are engaged, collaborative and excellent in execution. Leaders are expected to communicate effectively, develop teams and lead by example. Our industry and our function are changing rapidly so we are looking for new team members with a strong desire to develop themselves. You will be a great fit if you have:

  • 5+ years delivering computing solutions
  • 3+ years’ experience working in an Agile (ideally DevOps or SRE (Site Reliability Engineering)) environment
  • Experience working in life sciences R&D desirable
  • Awareness of emerging technologies
  • Consensus builder across diverse interest groups 
  • Strong influencer with excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive, ability to anticipate issues early
  • Fluency in English

Additionally, it will be nice if you also have:

  • University Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Additional languages
