Job description

This position is open to candidates across Europe, with the flexibility to be based at any Syngenta office within the region.

Please note that this is a 1-year fixed-term position to cover maternity leave.

As a Regional HR Business Partner Seeds P&S and R&D Europe, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end strategic HR partnership to Europe Seeds Development and Production & Supply departments. You will work in partnership with the Functional Leaders in creating and delivering a robust people strategy in line with the regional and global functional people agenda understanding the current transformation focus. You will also support the ongoing transformation from a regional perspective with a focus on change management, critical talent retention and embedding of change.

  • Partner with the regional Seeds Functional Leaders and their respective leadership teams to design the translation of the business strategy into people and organization initiatives and solutions 
  • Provide expert, well-reasoned and flexible HR advice and ensure that all people activities and processes are managed in line with Syngenta policy and local regulations and standards
  • Use relevant data and metrics, coach and challenge senior leaders to develop the organizational capability and resources required to enable delivery of business strategy
  • Partner with local senior leaders to support change management capability
  • Coach and advise local senior leaders on all aspects of people management
  • Take responsibility for the embedding and tracking of robust people management disciplines in the regional functions including talent management, people development, organization development and performance management
  • Collaborate with CoEs and local, regional, and global HRBP colleagues to design and deliver best practice HR solutions in line with global standards
  • Propose and contribute to continuous improvement and simplification of ways of working, processes and solutions
  • Ensure a strong collaboration with Global HRBPs, Business Unit and country HR to ensure alignment on the people agenda
  • Act as a HR Lead for transformation and collaborate with Global and Local HR to drive implementation

Qualifications

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • BSc/MSc degree or equivalent qualification
  • Fluency in English
  • Demonstrable HR business partnering experience in a multinational, complex environment
  • Proven experience in driving people strategy across multiple countries, ideally regionally
  • Track record of successful coaching and supporting leaders and their teams
  • Good project & change management skills, with a successful track record of implementing Human Resources initiatives that have had a clear impact on the performance and effectiveness of an organization
  • Successful management of operational HR policies and processes in a global organization
  • Experience of developing and implementing HR initiatives in line with overall regional/global business strategy, including business change management projects
  • Experience of working with Workers Councils is desirable
  • A flexible approach to work and be able to cope with numerous and varied projects while keeping operational activities in hand
  • An ability to independently lead projects
  • Interest and ability to identify opportunities for improvement and simplification in own area of work and HR function generally
  • Strong influencing and coaching skills, ability to build strong relationships while working virtually
  • Ability to use relevant people-related data to provoke meaningful conversations that lead to actions to improve organisational performance
  • Strong strategic HR experience, ability to create a clear, engaging and purposeful HR strategy to enable the business strategy
  • Able to challenge the business, create strong trusted relationships and seen as a true advisor to the Business Leaders
