Role purpose

You will be part of a team of researchers delivering the oilseed Pathology Trait Development.
Design a data base that will allow to analyze concrete data, communicate, and interact with the crop team (Sunflower), identify, and characterize new traits as well as new genetic sources.

The position is offered on a 12 months fixed term contract, based in France/Saint Sauveur (31).

Site not accessible by public transport.


Starting date: June/July 2024.

Accountabilities

-Data curation and management

Build data set (genotypic, phenotypic, environmental, etc.) from diverse data repositories, interpret data.

Analyze results using statistical techniques.

Provide ongoing reports, ensuring compliance with quality standards to enable the most appropriate data exploitation methods to be applied accurately.

Provide insights into experimental design, data collection and data analysis, and their interdependencies.

Create training material when required.

-Genetic Analysis and Genomic Analysis

 

Manage genetic and quantitative data and in silico analysis for Oilseeds Trait Development.

Deliver the Oilseeds Trait Development QTL mapping (bi-parental, multi-parental), GWAS analysis, Genomic Selection prediction, building genetic maps.

Save results and/or conclusions in relevant databases or repositories including annotations on data quality and level of confidence on analysed data.

Create proposals for subsequent steps to internal and/or external project stakeholders.

-Statistical Analysis

Analyze and interpret data within and across Trait Development projects, including drafting proposals for subsequent project steps.

Use the crop expertise to refine analyses considering genome specificities and trait knowledge.

Qualifications

Master's/Engineer’s/PHD degree in Agronomy, with a first succeed experience in research (academic or private sector) or a related field to plant engineering.

Demonstrated understanding of use of molecular markers and use of statistics in plant pathology

Proven experience (through internship) using R.

Experience in Trait development.

People Management in a matrix environment.

You are a real facilitator, you are a good communicant, organised and rigorous.

You are comfortable using office tools such as Pack Office (Excel), and other software/data bases.

Professional English and French required to work in our multicultural organisation (meetings, emails, documents).
