Role purpose:
- To Ensure Electrical Systems Safety Assurance at all seed sites and new projects across APAC region with highest local statutory and Syngenta international compliance requirements. Support Maintenance Excellence Initiatives, Trouble shooting and fool-proofing of electrical standards by design.
- Periodically review and support Civil Infrastructure Safety Assessments, Electrical Safety Assessments and Fire safety Assessments and enable sites to take corrective & preventive actions. ( All Seeds Related Sites including R&D stations, Home Farms, Drying & Processing Facilities)
- Act as a Centre Of Engineering Excellence and Training Resource for enhancing electrical system compliance and people competencies at sites.
- Introduce New cost effective Sustainable Green Technologies for Energy and Fuel to reduce carbon emissions with year on year Foot Print Demonstrations with Energy audits reports.
Accountabilities:
Through a clear understanding of the business unit strategy, intent or requirements:
He /She shall be:
- Developing, reviewing, updating, modifying, and approving electrical designs and Controls systems plans and work schedules in new projects of Green Field or Brown field category.
- Engineer will be involved in monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing, documentation of all electrical works of the project to ensure that the project is constructed as per Contract requirements and specifications. He /She will insure quality of work in the finished project.
- Liaising with users and other engineers to ensure projects are completed to specifications.
- Establishing relationships with users, vendors, suppliers, other professionals, and expanding networks.
- Maintaining and improving existing engineering processes at sites.
- Participating in conferences, events, and networking and learning opportunities.
- Drawing up budgets, schedules, company regulations, and various other documents.
- Analysing existing processes and scheduling meetings to discuss improvement initiatives.
- Conducting research, performing diagnostics, and troubleshooting electrical circuits and equipment.
- Ensuring a safe, positive work environment by involving in job safety training and comply with all established rules and methods to ensure safe and healthy work atmosphere from Electrical Engineering perspective.
- Support and review of Preparation of electrical drawings and specifications for renovation and new construction projects.
- Preparation of engineering studies for site and building assessments and recommendations for repairs and upgrades.
- Coordinate with users and sub-consultants to determine project requirements, schedules and deliverables.
- Lead and monitor design deliverables for electrical topics
- Understand design and code requirements to validate construction documents.
- Comply and enforce all safety plus GMP policies.
- Provide technical design and commissioning check supports for process automation system implementation from PLC to Artificial Intellegence, Robotics etc
- Implement necessary corporate systems for documenting all electrical design changes.
- Train technical staff in PLC troubleshooting and Electrical Systems.
- Perform with site staff and external experts to supervise and enhance site electrical systems utilization.
- Head investigations along with site staff to identify and resolve plant electrical system issues and Hazards.
- Head and direct efforts to enhance electrical plant efficiency.
- Assist construction projects as needed with on-location technical support.
- Support plants start-ups along with commissioning activities.
- Develop standard technical specifications and basic engineering drawings.
- Review every electrical drawings prepared by Owner’s Engineer having single line diagrams.
- Develop 3-line diagrams, wiring and connection diagrams controlling schematics, lighting, grounding and raceway layouts.
- Act as a Total Electrical System Expert from Substation to Transformer, Solar systems, Generators and Bus Bar and Electrical load distribution and Optimization.
The primary duties and responsibilities as an energy auditor include the following:
- calculating the amount of energy conservation
- identifying any health or safety concerns that may arise as a result of the planned welfare projects
- collecting and evaluating energy usage information from various sources
- determining which energy-saving solutions are considerable
- setting standards for energy use or need by monitoring energy consumption
- encouraging the use of energy-saving devices or alternative energy sources
- determining the energy consumption of each system by inspecting or evaluating construction methods, mechanical systems, electrical wiring, or process systems
- preparing audit reports that include the results of the energy analysis or suggestions regarding energy cost savings
- examining energy bills along with utility rates or tariffs to collect past energy consumption data
- understanding technical feasibility of energy-saving measures using engineering knowledge, energy use, construction, maintenance, system operation or process systems
- educating consumers on energy efficiency or responding to concerns about the expenses of running household appliances or how to choose energy-efficient appliances
- overseeing the installation of energy-saving equipment such as water heater wraps, pipe insulation, door sweeps and low-flow showerheads
Dimensions :
- Financial: Major capital projects up to $40m per annum.
- People: An independent technical expert performer working with all sites and design consultants, contractors and assuring Electrical System Fool-Proof and Energy conservation
Geographic Scope APAC Region and also if necessary act as a resourceful for Global Electrical Topic in Seeds Engineering.
Qualifications
Critical Experience (Experience/Previous Roles required for Job)
- Around 8 to 10 years of delivering continuous improvements in Electrical Compliance and Energy
- Around 5 to 6 years hands on experience in Electrical Projects
- At least 4 years of experience in Core Electrical Process design
Critical Knowledge (Education/ Development expected for Job)
- Masters/ Post Graduate in Electrical Engineering and Safety or Bacheoler in Electrical Engineering with pre-deploma in Electrical Engineering design and instalations
- Knowledge for multiple projects or program management, portfolio developments for Technology Projects
- Know-how of latest Electrical technologies world wide practices for best practices
- Knowledge in Energy sector and Sustainability and Bio Mass /Green Energy, Fuel Switch
