Analytical Scientist

To support this mission, we are currently seeking an Analytical Scientist in Greensboro, NC. You will be spending at least 85% of your time in the lab preparing and analyzing chemical compositions for assigned projects using analytical instruments. You will be testing and providing analytical data and/or methodology in support of formulation and AI (Active Ingredient) development, registration, and production efforts, in compliance with all relevant technical, business, GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), and HSE (health, safety, and environment) requirements.

Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship for this position.

Duties:

• Provide support for product chemistry studies that meet worldwide regulatory requirements, to enable product registration
• Provide analytical support to the supply chain through reliable data, efficient analytical methods and effective problem solving
• Test and analyze formulation, active ingredient, and packaging development materials by providing timely, safe, and innovative analytical data & methods
• Perform method validations and characterizations using analytical techniques such as HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) and GC (gas chromatography)

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or other relevant scientific degrees AND at least 1 year of prior laboratory research experience
• Must be very proficient with HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography); GC (gas chromatography) is a plus
• Preferred experience with GLP or GMP principles, also ISO
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with great attention to detail and GLP documentation
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Able to successfully apply scientific principles and technical experience to business challenges relevant for Syngenta
