Analyst MDG Business Partner

Role Purpose: 

As part of our Finance Digital Transformation, Syngenta has implemented SAP S/4 HANA Central Finance and Master Data Governance (MDG) platform. As an Sr. Analyst in Data & reporting COE, this role of ‘Sr. MDG BP Analyst’ will be key in ensuring we deliver high quality Vendor and Customer master data from our underlying ERPs to our new Central Finance and Reporting platforms. 

Accountabilities: 

BP Analysis & Error Management  

• Master Data Management Operations & Error Handling – 

• Create, maintain master records for BP (Customer & Vendor master) in SAP MDG. 

• Analyze any issue occurred during creations/updates of master data into MDG, and work on its resolution following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Regular IDOC monitor and Governance. 

• Request Fulfilment – Support ad-hoc master data maintenance requests, such as keymapping updates, trigger manual replication to downstream system/s.  

• Governance: Assist with design, development, documentation, implementation, of data governance processes. 

• Support to functional Data Profiling exercises – Assist to identify, duplicate records, other profiling gaps & improve data accuracy and completeness. 

• Change Request – Facilitate business by coordinating with IT for change delivery, validate the requirements and perform UAT and support until GO-Live. 

CI & Project Management 

• Documentation – Develop & maintain data related documents includes procedures (SOP), work instructions and process flows.  

• Continuous Improvement (CI) – Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives resulting in soft or hard benefits, such as reduction in daily errors, process automation. 

• Project Support - MDG-S BP Implementation, Data Migration, Data centralization: Understand the project requirement, perform UAT, support in all data migration and MDG upgrade activities 

• Data Cleansing: Identify Data issues historical, current, and Incremental, create project and improve data accuracy. 

Capabilities required for the role 

• Expert in Microsoft Excel (Pivot/ basic formulae/ advanced filters etc.) 

• Elementary understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) /Accounts Receivable (AR) reconciliation process would be beneficial i.e., person having basic accounting experience 

• Good verbal and written communication skills 

• Good stakeholder management skills 

• Have worked in cross functional domain (e.g., A2R, P2P, B2B/B2C) 

• Have good Analytical and Problem-Solving skills  

• Ability to work independently and self-driven 

Experience required for the role 

• Have good understanding and knowledge of the SAP Business Partner (Customer & Vendor) and FI Master Data setup, including data model and associated processes (A2R, B2C, P2P) – Understanding of Business Partner Data Model is a must  

• 6+ years of experience with minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in SAP MDG solution, preferably have used the tool for BP (Customer/Vendor) and Finance Master Data Maintenance, including Creation, Update and Blocking of master data objects   

• Have experience of Master Data best practices and understanding of Master Data Governance principles/best practices, such as Data Centralization, Harmonization, Deduplication, Retirement Process, etc. 

• Sound knowledge of IDOC monitoring and error resolution  

• Experience on key mapping replication & Data replication framework concept is an added advantage. 

• Good to have knowledge on SAP legacy system and awareness of ECC to MDG transformation/ migration. 

• Have preferably worked in a large scale and multi-national product or services-based organization and dealing with cross-functional business lines 

• Exposure to any MDG S/4 HANA Business Partner rollout project would be beneficial.
