To support this mission, Syngenta’s Finance Process & Technology is seeking a Business Process Consultant (BPC) in Montevideo or Sao Paulo. This role will act as a bridge between business needs, processes and technology, ensuring that solutions and processes are efficient, standardized, and fit for purpose.

Accountabilities

  • Leading and supporting transformation initiatives, including system implementations like S/4HANA and digital finance platforms.
  • Lead process, design and solution discussions – Driving the selection of technical solutions along with the identification of key necessary changes to the current business process to deliver the to-be solution.   Understanding of down stream systems and how it will impact the global finance eco-system.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, PMO, regional finance leads) to deliver integrated solutions that enhance data quality, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Translating business requirements into scalable and compliant solutions and process designs.
  • Ensuring process harmonization across geographies while respecting local legal and operational nuances.
  • Driving continuous improvement through process optimization, automation, and adoption of best practices.
  • Supporting governance and portfolio management, ensuring that initiatives are prioritized, tracked, and aligned with Syngenta’s finance strategy 
  • Seek for opportunities to partner with key stakeholders in different process areas and provide process leadership and expertise challenging, supporting, enabling and improving Finance performance; conducting regular FP&T portfolio reviews with Finance stakeholders in scope and reprioritize when necessary
  • Provide stakeholder visibility to the status and health of the organization programs, including finance teams, project sponsors, and senior management, to ensure alignment and support for project objectives.  Communicate project updates, risks, and financial implications to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Secure appropriate resources – Drive project plan to influence Senior Finance Leadership for business resources.  Also manage the resources to support the projects under his scope.
  • Manage the project plans, deliverables and resources – Lead the planning and execution of regional finance-related projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery.
  • Interaction with IT team to assure technical delivery – Ensuring identification of all Finance related implementation, determining whether the existing solutions will be changed or decommissioned prior to new projects implementation. Managing the interaction between Finance colleagues and Managed Service Provider (on/off shore)
  • Champion Finance processes - Apply the required methodologies, tools and techniques to deliver change management working closely with the organization to identify opportunities resulting from situational changes such as new regulation, data insights, new business situations to shape sustainable Finance processes and systems; leveraging our global process approach and proactively engage with other regions to identify opportunities for common project delivery and cost optimization

Qualifications

Required

The FP&T BPC role is positioned at a high level of complexity and influence and therefore demands a robust combination of technical, functional, and leadership experience. The following are the key experience areas and prior roles that are commonly expected:

  • Finance Process Expertise (7–10+ years): Solid background in finance operations, ideally across multiple domains such as Account-to-Report (ATR), Order-to-Cash (O2C), or Procure-to-Pay (P2P). Proven experience in financial process design, optimization, and compliance.
  • ERP & Digital Tools Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAC, BW4, and automation platforms.
  • Process Design & Optimization: Ability to map, assess, and redesign processes for efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
  • Data & Reporting Acumen: Understand data structures, reporting requirements, and how to leverage analytics for decision-making.
  • Project & Portfolio Management: Apply structured methodologies to manage initiatives, track progress, and ensure delivery.
