Job description

Role purpose

  • Apply deep understanding of your domain area to deliver fit for purpose solutions from start to finish by initiating, coordinating and escalating process and correlating system related requirements (especially regarding SAP S/4 implementation), originating from planned activities as well as ad-hoc issues.
  • Act as Level 3 (L3) process owner for the respective domain/stream (Plant), and via governance, maintain the integrity of established solutions.
  • Document end-to-end processes in Celonis to ensure transparency and traceability.
  • Network with relevant stakeholders to maintain alignment and gather insights for process improvements. Serve as go-to person for stakeholders when it comes to domain related challenges and questions, and acts as an integrator and problem solver. Support stakeholders in optimizing processes
  • Share best practices across domains and teams to foster continuous improvement, and align and harmonize processes where rational and beneficial to the organization.
  • Educate P&S community on established and new system processes and ways of working by sharing knowledge and providing training, ensuring expertise is embedded and sustained in the domain.
  • Support long-term process ownership goals by maintaining a repository of domain-specific knowledge, and ensure knowledge and expertise are organized and protected from loss, including documentation of critical tasks and procedures.
  • Investigate new technologies to optimize business processes, enabling Syngenta to grow at scale in a sustainable way. Reporting to P&S stakeholders about new technologies, their impact and required investments.
  • Monitor, together with key-stakeholders, process compliance and advise when required.
  • Own and steward all Level 3 (L3) processes within the Plant stream, ensuring processes are clearly documented in Celonis, regularly reviewed, and continuously improved in collaboration with plant stakeholders.

  •  Apply deep Plant stream understanding and technical solution knowledge to problem identification and solving, ensuring solutions align with Syngenta architectural principles.

  • Contribute to priority setting by providing insight into the Plant stream situation.

  • Balance priority setting for plant projects and ad-hoc issues with respect to available resources, ensuring business continuity and continuous improvement.

  • Mediate IT matters to plant business stakeholders and vice versa.

  • Provide appropriate costing input to new plant solutions or changes, considering both project and operations costs.

  • Bring expertise to develop visions and technology roadmaps for future plant problems.

  • Advise management in project determination on purpose and desirable outcomes for plant initiatives.

  • Proactively identify gaps in skills and knowledge within the Plant stream, address gaps to management, and support methods to close them.

  • Proactively identify gaps and errors in plant systems and take action to resolve them.

  • Provide training and training materials to key users and other members of the Plant stream where applicable.

  • Help plant stakeholders identify requirements and propose appropriate solutions considering business impact.

  • Follow up on proposed plant solutions and intervene where needed.

  • Advocate common ways of working within the Plant stream and across P&S.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

Critical knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management or other relevant educational experience
  • Knowledge of process mapping tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of Seeds business domain
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management principles
  • Understanding of Planning Master Data and other P&S related master data
  • Understanding of ERP/SAP systems
  • Advanced understanding of planning processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Critical experience

  • Extensive career experience in P&S, preferably Seeds business domain
  • Substantial experience working with SAP/ERP systems
  • Extensive experience in daily operations within P&S
  • Preferably SAP key user background
  • Process mapping
  • Successful contribution to projects and initiatives
  • Working with MRP
  • Considerable experience functioning in a supply chain ecosystem

  • Strong team player, with ability to drive consensus across boundaries and cultures. Effective stakeholder and expectation management
  • Sense of urgency combined with good prioritization skills.
  • Problem solver
  • Needs to have a good balance of an innovator, detail orientation, analytical ability, pragmatism and P&L mindset, seeing IT as an enabler to drive profitable business outcomes and customer satisfaction
