The way that food is grown and how society views environmental challenges is changing, and agriculture plays critical role in this. We are developing new solutions involving biological products and digital tools, together with more traditional crop protection and seed products to meet these challenges. We want a Trialist who can play a key role helping us to do this. We value creativity and resourcefulness alongside an ability both work alone and as part of a wider team.

Trialists are a key members of the Syngenta UK Technical Team, which provide the understanding to bring new products to the market and develop new opportunities for existing products. We need excellent communication skills to create the technical stories that our wider organization needs to sell our solutions for the benefit of UK agriculture.

Key Responsibilities;

  • To contribute to the planning, implementation and reporting of field trials within the BA Technical Team and campaign support trial programmes
  • To generate high quality field trials data for technical launch plans, demonstration sites, product launch and sales support and identify further product extensions or sales support opportunities and issues
  • To provide a link between Technical Support and the local Sales Team
  • To provide sales support by the provision and local management of field trial demonstration sites including farmer liaison and compensation negotiations.
  • To provide sales support by the provision of campaign support material from field trials.
  • Influence the Value Chain via trials interaction.

Qualifications

Desired Experience;

  • Degree or equivalent in biological, agriculture or environmental sciences.
  • Knowledge of field trials techniques in all crop protection disciplines - replicated and demonstration trials – and of quality standards (GEP).
  • Understanding of the role / value of technical information in a commercial environment
  • Product knowledge - labelled and actual use patterns of both Syngenta and competitor development and commercial products
  • Knowledge of the crop protection business and the key operators/influencers

Preferred knowledge;

  • BASIS / national Qualification (at employment or within two years)
