ROLE PURPOSE:

  • Support PPS team in the late development, pre-commercial evaluation and selection of seeds product candidates for target markets
  • Perform field evaluations and phenotypic observation on sunflower hybrids in different environments. Coordinate notations and interpret the results, to be able to select best adapted hybrids for responsible area.
  • Support in Product Advancement process in collaboration with other parties
  • Understand the regulatory environment and contribute in driving the registration strategy

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Coordinate / Contribute the annual Crop Advancement Processes (HPC/VPC):

  • Connect with product managers receiving portfolio needs, filtering and prioritizing them with Regional Portfolio, understanding market trends, and considering new pipeline enablement
  • Select and characterize the best products for a given territory and propose pre-commercial line up for represented Market Segment

Late stage sunflower hybrid evaluation:

  • Visit multiple locations to evaluate different parameters of sunflower hybrids on various phenological stages.
  • Understand the growing conditions, farmer practices and be able to interpret the hybrid behavior based on occurred conditions.
  • Compare tested hybrids with local checks, seek for differences and advantages that helps to promote and position new products accordingly.
  • Interpret notations and observation into technical profile summary for promoted hybrids

Secure License to Operate of the New Advancements

  • Work with portfolio and registration representatives of the commercial area
  • Support the local regulatory representatives
  • Interact and influence the official registration process and downstream end users
  • Monitor and update on performance of candidates through official trialing in registration

Engage with the Business Unit Commercial Teams:

  • Lead the NPL product positioning meetings, make sure that the product FABs are understood, and adjusted minorly to the required level to the local needs
  • Collaborate with local technical experts, design and develop growing protocols to support Product Positioning and maximize on farm performance
  • Provide methods and solutions, with an aim for a shared small plot trial network

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in agricultural science and/or Biological science or similar
  • Experience in practical field trialing
  • Familiar with relevant computing (MS-office) system
  • Good command of English knowledge
  • Awareness of the environmental types, growing conditions at the represented area
  • Basic knowledge of portfolio management, market segmentation, and end user / farmer needs
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and data management of complex data sets
  • Basic knowledge of breeding methodologies, and techniques
  • Own a Driving License  B
