We are looking for a Senior Scientist to work in the formulation department at Syngenta in Münchwilen (AG).

Accountabilities

  • Plans, designs and executes the experimental studies needed for the development of formulations based mainly on biological active substances.
  • Leads microbiology laboratory and analytical activities essential for product development in the area of biologicals to ensure that capabilities, working practices and tools are up to date in a demanding and new environment.
  • Applies scientific theories, principles and techniques to solve technical problems that are encountered during development activities and reaches out to the network for consolidating scientific and data interpretation approaches.
  • Generates and implements innovative ideas/methods/technologies to support the delivery of formulations of biologicals meeting the pre-defined design requirements.
  • Engages proactively in collaborations/networking with key internal support functions (inside and outside respective organization) to deliver efficiently the allocated projects in a timely manner.
  • Interprets and effectively communicates complex scientific findings, challenges and recommendations in one-to-one discussions, departmental and cross-functional meetings.
  • Provides technical expertise to influence key project decisions and directions and is a proactive ambassador within and outside own organization.

Qualifications

  • Degree (Masters or higher) in the field of applied sciences, preferably in biotechnology or related area with experience in microbiology and with experience in the agrochemical industry environment (preferably at least 2 years)
  • Demonstrated language skills in English (at least B2) and German (at least B2) or a strong commitment to develop these.
