The Data Analyst role is crucial for the organization as it involves owning relationships with business partners to deliver analytical solutions and foster a data-driven environment. This includes utilizing various analytical tools to create ad-hoc reporting, dashboards, and advanced reporting, as well as collaborating with different analytics teams.
The role also entails leading thought leadership in tools and reports development, synthesizing analyses into clear communications, and presenting findings with minimal supervision. Additionally, the Data Analyst will be responsible for developing and managing cross-functional Seeds Key Performance Indicators, supporting market analytics, target lists, and product performance data, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert and thought leader for applicable analytics within the assigned business function.
Accountabilities:
- Delivering improvement in operations excellence and the customer experience
- Deliver data related insights to the functional teams seeking to drive significant impact via data driven decisions
- Bring deep understanding of Sales analytics with the capability of developing analytics and insights in a functional agnostic manner
- Advanced querying in SQL to effectively build data sources to feed reports and dashboards
- Explore and conduct analysis on business improvement opportunities
- Interact with data scientists and industry experts to understand how data needs to be converted, loaded
- Conducts complex root cause analysis on business problems for business partners, in partnership with Data Scientists, to identify insights that inform and drive key business decisions
- Tools and Reports Development
- Serve as a ‘Power User’ of custom and 3rd party applications, advanced querying and complex data aggregations and analyses not supported by a single application
- Collaborates with IT, consultants, and end users
- Identify and develop analytics to support and measure strategies for business partners
- Influence and evangelize analytical methodologies to support business partners’ needs
- Identify opportunities to standardize processes through analytics and tools
- Support integration of strategies, analytics, processes, and tools
- Develop and refine core best practices to enhance the influence of Insights & Analytics across the organization

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of experience with data analysis and preparation
- Advanced SQL knowledge and data manipulation skills
- Advanced use of visualization software, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Python/R
- Experience using Excel
- Experience working with multiple different data sources
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Finance, or related field
- Proven track record of effective communication with upper management from business functions
- Experience working on an agile/scrum team
- Strong business and collaboration skills, and ability to respond to service needs and operational demands
- Passion and deep understanding of agriculture, marketplace dynamics, competitive environment, and Syngenta customer needs
