Syngenta is hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer/Administrator with the following responsibilities:

  • Architecting, designing, securing, and implementing Cloud native technologies
  • Research, design, secure, and implement cloud services within research cloud accounts
  • Define and communicate cloud standards for DevOps teams
  • Identify and architect automation opportunities
  • Perform daily monitoring and operations, verifying integrity and availability of cloud services and key processes
  • Installation and configuration of monitoring and security software on EC2
  • Assure adherence to security policies in cloud services and configurations
  • Create and maintain knowledge base documentation such runbooks, onboarding and support processes, development standards and best practices, and account inventory
  • Design and implement AWS Solutions by utilizing various AWS services to meet business requirements
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery technologies and procedures
  • Architect, design, and implement CI/CD for the organization
  • Re-architect applications from traditional server-based architecture to AWS Docker container-based services and microservice architecture
  • Develop reusable, efficient, and scalable python modules to automate manual tasks in AWS infrastructure
  • Partner with customers to architect solutions, share standards and best practices, implement serverless applications and integrations with third party products and services
  • Troubleshoot and resolve the root cause of AWS & Azure platform incidents
  • Work closely with solution architects and data engineers to prototype and implement newly launched AWS services to solve problems

Qualifications

This position requires a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study and three (3) years related work experience as a Software Developer, IAM Engineer, or a closely related occupation.

 

Requires three (3) years of experience with:

  • Cloud, on-prem, and agricultural research site Compute including Python and Java software development
  • Multi-region integration including AWS China
  • SaaS integration with Benchling
  • AD and DNS
  • Designing, optimizing, and deploying infrastructure into AWS and Azure cloud platform
  • API traffic management, authentication, authorization, monitoring, backup, patching, and version management
  • Troubleshooting network related issues across layers 3 through 7
  • Engineering practices across the SDLC
  • Developing GraphQL and REST APIs, and Microservice architecture
  • Writing modular code
  • Centralized source control, CI/CD, and standard code reviews
  • IaC methodologies using AWS Cloud Formation
  • AWS Services including IAM, SCP, Cognito, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Lambda, API Gateway, Event Bridge, EC2, EMR, Redshift, Service Catalog, S3, Guard duty, Security Hub, IoT*, ACM, ECS, EKS, Fargate, SSM, Load Balancers, Security Groups, NACL, WAF, Route Tables, Route 53, Transit Gateway, VPC, Firewalls, CloudFormation, CDK, SQS, SNS, RDS, Redis, Neptune, Glue, Athena, OpenSearch, Cloudfront, Sagemaker, Appsync, Config, Code*, DynamoDB, Kinesis, TimeStream, Backup, Snowball, EFS, and FsX.

Requires two (2) years of experience with:

  • Terraform, and AWS CDK. Requires one (1) year of experience with: SaaS integration with Snowflake
  • Administering Denodo and Snowflake. Requires AWS Certification: Solutions Architect. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master’s program. Must pass a background check and drug test before beginning employment.
