Role purpose

  • To lead the country seeds business and execute the yearly budget and 5YP Syngenta ambition, with full accountability and ownership of the seeds P&L.
  • To lead and develop the country seeds commercial function in strong connection to the regional functions of Crop Strategy and Portfolio, P&S and R&D and support functions.
  • To explore and scout further seeds business opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the country seeds P&L, assigning sales targets by area and TSR’s
  • Responsible for the commercial plan approval in the country based on yearly budget and 5YP
  • Responsible for the build-up and development of workforce and organizational capability excellence in seeds agronomy, animal nutrition, feed/food chains, sales, marketing and technical development
  • Lead the seeds change and transformation program at country level to achieve optimal penetration on farms and right balance between pull and push, so that Syngenta Seeds becomes the partner of choice
  • Implement and phase the growth plan in a financially sustainable way, managing P&L, function costs as well as the expected growth with rigorous management discipline
  • Responsible to work collaboratively with CP head to maximize Syngenta business in country.
  • Responsible for HSE, Code of Conduct and compliance in the country seed business
  • Represent the Seed Org in the Seed associations, with stakeholders and in front of the Officials

 


Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

  • Experience in leading seeds business in multinational organizations, including a successful direct experience in sales, with good knowledge of marketing and technical development.
  • Has demonstrated ability to lead changes and instill winning team mindset in Sales, Marketing and Tech development.
  • Has demonstrated ability to significantly grow business results and market shares
  • Has worked in cross functional teams and collaborated to achieve strong enterprise results
  • Has demonstrated ability to work entrepreneurially and grow the teams in a sustainable and self-funding way.
  • Strong combination of business acumen, education in running a seed business, good knowledge of farming and agriculture in general.
  • Long-term vision of market potential, evolution, business opportunities and potential attractive offer for business partners
  • Agile in interacting with ag stakeholders, partners, officials and industry players
  • Strong attention to seeds business critical commercial execution KPIs and remediation plans when needed
  • Strong communicator and change leader
  • A-player with ability to attract, develop, motivate and coach winning teams
  • Capability to select and evaluate people in the seed org
  • Business improvement mindset and strong management discipline
  • Good team player able to share best practices with peers out of his cluster
