Role purpose :

  • Accountable to deliver agreed Seedcare business objectives in the assigned area
  • Responsible for demand generation in the assigned area by conducting field promotional activities such as pre sowing campaigns, Farmer Training Programs, Field days and Field trips in the most important villages of his assigned area
  • Monitor the activities of the Market development officers (Average span of 8). Manage their day to day activities and ensuring conductance of Field development activities on their front.
  • Channel & Retailer Management: Providing detailed updates on the demand generation activities on a day to day basis to the top retailers of the area Strengthen channel footprints in under represented geographies for Seed care business2.
  • Identify the right target segments and focus on the grower value propositions which are supported by the required marketing promotional activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key influencers in the territory.
  • Focus on two major crops given to criterion of Veg demand in that area.
  • Ensuring on time submission of updates on the Field Development Activities to the Call Center of the area.

Accountabilities:

  • Create season wise Business Plan for his/her region
  • Ensure Channel alignment, Business Plan & retailer mapping
  • Monthly forecast, sales & liquidation achievement
  • MDO deployment/training & hand holding – Weekly work plan to MDOs on demand generation & demand fulfillment objectives.

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities:
Critical knowledge:

  • Preferably M.Sc./MBA with B.Sc. (Agri/Seed Technology)
  • Commercial Acumen / Designing of Commercial Schemes 
  • Techno Commercial 

Critical experience:

  • Seeds sales experince in addition to CP will be preferred
  • Robust Sales & Business Development experience
  • Channel development / Distributor appoitment    
  • People management
  • Planning and execution

Critical technical, professional, and personal capabilities:

  • Should be able to communicate  in English & at least one local language
  • Strong business deveoplment skills
  • Ability to work in high pressure / high effort environment 

Critical leadership capabilities:

  • Ability to lead a team of 6-8 MDOs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal & external stakeholders

Critical Success Factors:

  • Have passion & persistence towards new business development
  • Be able to prioritize, convert decisions into actions
    le to engage with local seed multipliers
  • Knowledge of seed treatment / seeds business 
  • Able to engage with local seed multipliers

Key Challenges:

  • Market Creation,Channel Development for Seedcare
  • Establishment Seedcare business of on farm Seed Treatment practice in designated area
  • Additional information
  • Intensive travel with in designated state/districts (20 days in a month during peak season).
  • Willing to learn from mistakes & share sucesses/learnings amongst the team (both own & wider)
