Global Seed Production Specialist

Into Action

As our Global Seeds Production Specialist you will work in a team that is responsible for the supply of vegetable seeds to customers worldwide. You will be responsible for the seeds sourcing and crop placement strategy, planning and execution in assigned crop(s). As part of your job you will be responsible for reaching the agreed supply goals on quality, volume, timing and cost and for managing risks and identifying future supply constraints and developing actions for their resolution. Furthermore, you work on organizing knowledge transfers of growing seeds to field productions teams internally and externally.

The Challenge

In this role you will create, lead and execute together with the global Solanaceae supply chain team the development of a global tomato sourcing strategy to reach the best quality, costs, risk, and market requirements. You will lead the implementation of the global sourcing plan in close cooperation with Multiplication Order Managers and Field Production Specialists. Besides you will monitor and evaluate performance, measure progress through a KPI system, and implement and lead continuous improvement projects on quality, yield, cost and risk management. As you will be working with a both internal and external stakeholders you are responsible for establishing a close relationship with stakeholders in R&D and M&S with the goal to optimally organize the variety introduction and commercial scale-up to achieve complete customer satisfaction.


Qualifications

Your Profile

To be successful in this role you have at least a Masters degree in a plant science direction and preferably experience in the vegetable seeds industry. You have a knowledge of seed production operations and experience in planning, agriculture production and continuous improvement processes. You are known for your strong (international) Stakeholder Management skills and ability to balance strategic thinking & guidance with operational implementation. You are a strong communicator and influencer in English and you are willing to travel up to 20% of the time.
