Sampling, Clerical and Shipping Associate

Picking and transporting all seed to specified area as identified accurately and checked against production order

Role purpose
Provide support to the sampling and shipping department, focused sampler with strong analytical skills and an acute attention to detail. In this position, you will collect and organize and ship product samples for testing and analysis. You must be willing to work independently and possess excellent observation and data recording skills.

Accountabilities  

• Packaging, shipping, and tracking of all sample shipments. This includes obtaining and generating all necessary documentation related to International export shipments
• Responsible for notifying customers and the Hollar Seeds sample request originator of their shipment with all necessary information, including tracking details, timelines, etc.
• Maintain an Access Sample database for all samples up to date with the appropriate information. This includes shipment date, method, and tracking information.
• Assist product development staff and account managers in the following up on all sample shipments
• Manage sample seed inventory
• Track and inspect all incoming and outgoing samples, design shipping schedules for the samples accordingly
• Collaborate with management and vendors
• Work according to state and nationally enforce standard
• Assist in filing and other office duties as needed
• Train to be a backup for Shipping Specialist and Logistics and Inventory Specialist
• Provide customer service by answering phone calls and assisting with transactions.
• Respond to all questions from customers in an efficient manner while always maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
• Answer telephone queries as directed by management for any issues that may arise during normal business hours (ie: call back, email, etc.).
• Track proposed resolutions and follows up with customers in a timely fashion
• Develop and maintains vast knowledge of company products
• Additional duties as assign by manager

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Ability to interact with all levels of management and departments within Hollar Seeds and Syngenta Seeds worldwide
• Ability to offer support across the department, with the capacity to prioritize across multiple requests
• Attention to detail and exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects while working under deadlines
• Demonstrate diplomacy in dealings with others and working in a team environment
• Excellent Skills in Microsoft Office with a very strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to learn new applications as assigned

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, working efficiently under pressure

Preferred Requirements:

• Associates Degree
• 2 years of secretarial/clerical experience
• Experience shipping Internationally
