Regulatory Portfolio Manager

To support that challenge, the Regulatory team is currently seeking a Regulatory Portfolio Manager that will Provide regulatory leadership and strategic direction for assigned project teams to support the registration of new active ingredients, end-use products, label expansions, and products undergoing re-evaluation.

We have a Flexible Work Location approach and this role can be based in Guelph, ON, Calgary, AB or remotely across Canada. 

What will you do:

• Manage registration process to secure timely registrations for assigned new active ingredients, products and label expansions of existing products while meeting established timelines
• Develop submission strategies and  timelines to achieve registration objectives
• Participate in North American, Global Regulatory and Product Safety Teams and provide input related to registration requirements and development costs to advance reviews of key submissions
• Continuously update the teams to highlight issues and areas that affect registration timelines and market introduction
• Represent Syngenta and provide regulatory expertise with external stakeholders and organizations as applicable (Crop Life Canada, Pest Management Centre, provincial minor use groups, grower’s groups) 
• Ensure that all registration aspects of assigned portfolio products and active ingredients comply with continuously changing Federal and Provincial legislation
• Provide critical review of promotional material to ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial regulations and adherence to registered label text 
• Provide regulatory expertise as a member of Product Management Teams by communicating changes in Federal and Provincial regulations which impact Syngenta product sales and registration timelines

• A minimum of a M.Sc. (a Ph.D. is preferred) in chemistry, toxicology or an agriculturally related biological science such as entomology, plant pathology, soil science or weed science
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a regulatory capacity dealing with the Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency
• Knowledge of Canadian regulatory process and policy
• Experience in presenting complex scientific information  in easy-to-understand terms to external and internal customers/stakeholders
• Detailed knowledge of federal/provincial statutes including Pest Control Product Act, regulations, and guidelines covering pesticide registration for use in Canada, OECD countries and US 
• Strong knowledge of Canadian agronomic practices
