Role purpose

  • Lead a team of Supply Planners for chemicals, / or new business offers in a region or across geographies
  • Develop and maintain the team’s capability in the respective business context, so that it drives balanced plans and provides visibility to enable business-optimized decision-making throughout the supply chains and to align strategic business plans with daily operations
  • To establish and maintain relationships with key supply, finance & commercial partners at the site, territory, and regional levels across the business in line with the strategic intent

 

Accountabilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of planning capability (Process, People, Systems and Structure) to deliver an optimum balance between supply & demand for all supply chains in scope for the operational 0 to 36mth horizon
  • Lead and coach a team of supply planners, and ensure that the development of the team is fully aligned with the changing needs of fast and effective strategy implementation and the global Supply Planning functional structure 
  • Enable business-optimized decision-making through balanced supply-demand plans, anticipated supply constraints, analysis and counsel, the use of systems and business processes as well as proactive cross-functional and cross-geography communication and collaboration
  • Manage inventory forecasting and control considering sales forecast accuracy, production variances, capacity headroom, relevant trade-offs and the relationship between volumes and values.
  • Manage supply status reviews and reporting as well as allocation processes for the supply chains in scope, and closely collaborate with the relevant functions and geographies.
  • Identify operational issues, drive the creation of options and timely implementation of agreed tactical planning solutions and control measures
  • Ensure ROP process delivery throughout the assigned supply chains and in line with the global process
  • Actively encourage exploiting opportunities for improvement by creating an environment that promotes challenging ways of working, identifies waste (e.g. non-current KPI) and rewards relevant improvements
  • Ensure that all planning processes throughout the integrated supply chain operate against MRPII philosophies and principles, and ensure plans are reflected in our different ERP systems, providing visibility of the supply plans to the wider organization

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent
  • Experience in supply planning from relevant industry as a people manager
  • Strong knowledge of Supply Planning Processes & Methodology
  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain Management and design
  • Experience in a similar industry is a plus
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to work in cross-functional teams, strong organization skills
  • Able to build a culture of innovation
  • Strong leadership in driving teams to meet objectives
  • Be able to work in a team environment and collaborate with key stakeholders
  • Willing to travel when needed
