Objective:

The objective of this position is to support the Head of CEO, Executive & Thought Leadership Communications (ETL) in ensuring consistent and effective messaging for the CEO and the Global Leadership Team (GLT), establishing them as a team of thought leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver executive briefs, talking points, slide decks, and key messages for engagements with a wide range of stakeholders, such as global teams, customers, industry partners, governments, NGOs, academia, and media, in collaboration with business units, regions, functions, and especially business sustainability/public affairs.
  • Ensure that briefs, engagements, and messaging are aligned with internal stakeholders across all communication channels and teams, primarily media relations, social media, and internal communication, with a strong focus on supporting the business in our key regions markets.
  • Support and facilitate content creation, led by the Executive Communications Manager, to position Syngenta Group and the CEO as a thought leader in the agriculture and food industry.
  • Monitor and inform the Head of ETL about topics, trends, and risks relevant to the CEO and Global Leadership Team (GLT).

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in business development, public affairs, politics, or global communications
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to write, lead, develop, and align complex briefings and project plans and provide hands-on support for the implementation of high-level engagements
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and deal with ad hoc requests
  • Work experience in a large multinational organization or corporation
  • Proven track record of written communications
  • Experience in engaging with senior stakeholders and excellent partnership/stakeholder management skills
  • Native English speaker or a comparable level of English, both oral and written; any additional language, particularly Chinese, French, German or Portuguese, will be considered an asset
  • Positive mindset and strong teamplayer
  • Availability to travel globally for the role, approximately 30%
