In action

The Project Engineer & Coordinator, based in Enkhuizen, is involved in developing, coordinating, and handling technical (sub)projects submitted to the Engineering department by various business units. You will deliver projects within Syngenta's quality and quantity standards. Supporting and advising project managers on technically related issues is part of the job.

You combine your broad technical knowledge of various disciplines: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and civil engineering, with practical implementation skills to successfully realize projects.

Key tasks:

  • Project management and coordination of technically substantive projects
  • Daily guidance of internal employees and external parties within the construction area
  • Ensuring safety, planning, acceptance, and delivery through SAT and FAT protocols
  • Preparing, signing off, and enforcing work permits
  • Coordinating execution planning with department representatives and contractors
  • Monitoring and recording execution and safety in the field
  • Technical detail follow-up of projects
  • Reporting to Project Managers
  • Problem-solving and coordination between various parties

Within Syngenta Netherlands, new construction and replacement projects are developed, budgeted, and executed by the Engineering department. This is an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team with a technical background, due to the wide variety of installations, machines, buildings, and processes. The team supports the various business units necessary for breeding and processing vegetable and flower seeds.

Syngenta has several locations in the Netherlands, with its headquarters in Enkhuizen.

To support the project managers in the preparation and execution of various projects, the Engineering department is looking for a motivated full-time "bridge-builder" between theory and practice:


Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Technical education at MBO+/HBO level
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in a similar position
  • Broad technical knowledge and affinity with civil engineering, electrical engineering, installation technology, mechanical engineering, or process engineering
  • Experience with project management and construction site coordination
  •  Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written, is a must.
