Product Placement Analytics Scientist

Role purpose
The Product Placement Analytics Scientist will be responsible for developing data workflows to gain analytical insights into many pipeline performance aspects.  This role will support all go-to-market functions in which Seeds Development delivers products to the Syngenta commercial unit.

Accountabilities:
(candidates must be located in the United States)

• Data support specialist to assess viability of late and early stage performance 
• Collaborate with analytical teams to implement new analytics for product advancement 
• Prototyping of new analytical and visualization tools
• Assess new visualization tools for product evaluation
• Inbred and Hybrid performance evaluations (25%)
• Summarize advancement rates for late-stage inbreeds and hybrids
• Support inbred and hybrid value models for go-to-market strategies
• Support inbred and hybrid production planning activities
• Compliance support and evaluation (15%)
• Track compliance process for hybrids and inbreeds 
• Report compliance metrics to the commercial teams
• Collaborate with Trait Development organization to implement pipeline compliance changes as needed
• Statistical support for key commercial units (25%)
• Key collaborator in statistical modeling and delivery for new commercial products
• Support product sales documentation for commercial units
• Commercial Collaborations support (10%)
• Support portfolio planning for early deployment
• Collaborate on end-to-end portfolio visibility tools

Critical knowledge

• MS (preferably PhD) in data science with experience in quantitative genetics, biological sciences, computational biology, plant breeding, or related disciplines
• Excellent data management and visualizations skills 
• Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Spotfire, or similar software
• Experience in big data management and programming language such as Phyton, SQL, or similar languages

Critical experience

• Demonstrates experience in developing and executing machine learning, data mining algorithms, statistics methodologies, and predictive models
• Knowledge of product development and marketing with thorough knowledge of germplasm, trait value, data analysis, variety / hybrid positioning within the key markets
• Excellent organization and communication
