We are now recruiting for a Process Safety Graduate (Chemistry / Chemical Engineering) to join us in September 2023 and specialise in Chemical Reaction Hazards. On our four-year Graduate Programme within Syngenta’s Global Process Hazards Group, you will help provide knowledge and direction in chemical reaction hazards for new and existing crop protection products around the globe. The programme will involve formal training, personal coaching and on-the-job development, working on real projects supporting real manufacturing processes as you develop towards becoming a Chemical Reaction Hazards Assessor.

The role of a Chemical Reaction Hazards Assessor at Syngenta involves probing and understanding chemical processes, from lab to production scale, to support our sites around the globe to ensure operations can be performed safely. This involves developing an understanding of what can potentially go wrong, being able to define a laboratory testing regime to investigate this and then converting this data into a meaningful basis of safety. As you build your experience, you will also have responsibility to deliver technical training to other personnel throughout the company. This is an opportunity to work with & learn from a group of globally recognised technical experts in the field, and even to contribute to standards and cross industry bodies working on process safety, with possibilities to generate and publish relevant research.


Qualifications

  • Degree or PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or similar). Expected grade of 2:1 or above.
  • Confident using relevant IT software such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
