Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. We are currently seeking an NA Yield Trialing Process Optimization and Transformation Lead for the NA Seeds Development Trialing team in Slater, IA. (role may be hybrid though highly prefer incumbent to be based in Central Iowa region.)

Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative individual to join our team as the NA Yield Trialing Process Optimization and Transformation Lead. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving process optimization and transformation initiatives within our yield trialing operations for corn, soybean and wheat. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in agricultural research, process optimization, and project management.

Accountabilities

Process Optimization and Transformation:

    • Lead the development and implementation of strategies to optimize and transform yield trialing processes, focusing on efficiency, data quality, and overall effectiveness.
    • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and improvement of trialing processes to enhance productivity and decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including research, data science, and technology to align trialing processes with broader organizational objectives and technological advancements.
    • Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing across different teams to drive process improvements.

Data Analysis and Insights:

    • Utilize data analytics and statistical methods to analyze trialing data, identify trends, and provide insights to enhance trialing processes and decision-making.
    • Develop and implement data quality standards and protocols to ensure the accuracy and reliability of trialing data.

Project Management:

    • Lead and oversee process optimization projects, including planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and stakeholder communication.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.

Continuous Improvement Culture:

    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the yield trialing team, encouraging innovation, feedback, and the adoption of best practices.
    • Implement mechanisms for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of process optimization initiatives.

Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure that all process optimization and transformation initiatives comply with relevant safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
    • Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the trialing operations.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. preferred.
  • Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • A strong understanding of agriculture and agronomic practices is required.
  • A strong understanding of the practices and procedures that affect yield trial data quality is required.
  • Experience with small plot research yield trials is preferred.
  • Experience in plant breeding is preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence without having direct reporting line responsibility.
  • Proven ability to champion and drive implementation of new processes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • A passion for and advanced ability to identify issues and patterns from data.
  • Ability to implement strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
