Into Action

You are going to work in the R&D Flowers teams, your role will take care of various plant testing tasks and you will support the Phytosanitary Specialist. Even though our team is quite small, your work impacts many persons and different departments, you will communicate with this diverse group of people inside as well as outside the R&D department.

The Challenge

This job is for people that like dynamic, flexibility and diversity. Plants are living beings and the interaction with people from different areas make this job really interesting. You work independently but need to collaborate with people from different departments. It is key to understand that in this role you need to look further than your own specialty and learn about different processes and techniques.

You will plan daily, weekly and recurrent activities independently and will execute Indicator Plant Testing for breeding and Elite Plant Material. Furthermore, you will be applying protocols in Laboratory and Greenhouse environments. You will run Pollen Viability Tests according to Amphasys Protocols for breeding crops and additionally support and execute seed disinfection trials. Lastly, we would require you to provide flexible support on running projects and daily activities.


Qualifications

Your Profile

You finished MBO or MLO studies and having a diploma in Botany, Agriculture or Horticulture is required. You have at least 2 years of relevant laboratory/greenhouse experience and possess a good knowledge of testing methods and technologies, like ELISA, Molecular testing, and Microbiology. Knowledge of computer systems is important (MS Office, Databases, Excel). You can communicate, write and read both English and Dutch and you have a proactive and accurate mindset.
