About this opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Production & Supply CoE (Centre of Expertise) team. This role will help improve our plant maintenance processes and optimise the digital tools and platforms that underpin these as part of our global Plant Maintenance Harmonisation initiative.  You will work closely with Syngenta’s’ dynamic and multicultural Engineering Excellence team and be a key element of our future plans for optimizing the maintenance and engineering activity that supports Syngenta Crop Protection’s $5+ billion assets worldwide across 30 sites and with over 900 users. The initial focus of this role will be on optimising the use of Plant Maintenance processes and systems, extending to the wider lifecycle management of our manufacturing assets as appropriate.  

Role purpose:

  • To provide plant maintenance focused systems expertise to understand and identify how to maximize business value across multiple digital platforms.
  • To act as anchor-point to support key users and secure the plant maintenance process and systems design knowledge within Syngenta.
  • To support the review and harmonization of key plant maintenance business processes and act as the custodian of these processes on behalf of the Business Process Owner.
  • To support the development of key user competencies and process documentation in relation to plant maintenance, working closely with the Engineering Excellence Program to help ensure knowledge is managed appropriately.
  • To develop key users and documentation to help ensure knowledge is sustained within the organisation.
  • To design and perform plant maintenance process analytics to help optimize the management of our assets throughout their lifecycle.

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure business needs are translated into clear requirements/ user stories for the functional plant maintenance initiatives.
  • Actively contribute within plant maintenance projects, understanding the requirements from the business and providing expertise in our processes and systems.
  • Support the development of key users and high-quality process documentation to help ensure knowledge is transferred and sustained within the organisation
  • Collaborate with key users to build analytics models for plant maintenance process improvements.
  • Work with data engineers to identify data requirements and flows for internal and external plant maintenance activities.
  • Work with stakeholders to analyse and optimise process performance using techniques such as process mining.
  • Cooperate with internal subject matter experts, external partners, and service providers to deliver detailed analysis on future issue identification.
  • Contribute actively to Syngenta’s Engineering and Production and Supply change delivery communities.

Knowledge, experiences & capabilities:

Essential knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of functional systems and data management
  • Good understanding of business process mapping
  • Literate in Data and Analytics with a good understanding of how to structure and analyze data
  • Fluent in English, other languages are an advantage

Critical Experience:

  • Maintenance process management harmonization, improvement and analysis in a relevant organisation
  • Project management experience is an advantage
  • Working in a multi-cultural and complex matrix organization
  • Functional experience in the use of systems is a requirement
  • Delivering training to users, translating concepts and system usage in business language

  • Analytical thinker, effectively. breaks down complex problems into simple steps
  • Translate business language into process and system functional concepts
  • Enthusiastic and highly motivated team player with effective communication skills
  • Strong influencing skills - develops relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work across networks and with diverse teams

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or IT, or other relevant training.
