To provide leadership to the maintenance management team during preparation for and delivery of major planned outage activities at GMC and to drive HSE and quality standards and effective manpower utilization.

To co-ordinate and plan Syngenta direct labour utilization across GMC to most effectively support both planned and outage activities.

To continually develop and sustain outage processes at GMC and to apply consistently across the site.

Accountabilities:

  • To ensure that all work undertaken within outages at GMC is completed to the highest HSE standards and in compliance with all relevant statutory and company requirements.
  • To assist the Outage Manager in developing an HSE culture driving to goal zero within the outage team including contracting partners and specifically to prepare the outage HSE file.
  • To prepare and deliver the pre-shutdown safety briefing and co-ordinate the daily toolbox talks.
  • To ensure all the required competencies are in place within the direct & contractor labour groups to support the outage programme.
  • To ensure utilisation of direct labour resources is managed effectively to deliver the full outage programme.
  • To ensure systems are in place with reference to Syngenta engineering maintenance policy and standards for all work delivery during planned outages.
  • During the preparation phase to assist the Outage Planner in building costs estimates, work packs and to complete tagging and site checking.
  • During the execution phase to provide regular feedback to the Outage Planner and to drive actions to ensure the outage remains on track. To ensure that all work history is accurately recorded in SAP.
  • To coach & develop members of the wider site maintenance team who participate in outage delivery to enhance overall team capability and to drive consistent application of agreed best practice.
  • To develop & manage individual & team performance targets, on-going training & development programmes which maximises their contribution to the GMC outage management process.

Qualifications

  • Broad multi-skilled engineering knowledge.
  • Experience in engineering maintenance activities.
  • Experience in managing planned outages.
  • Experience in line management.
  • Experience in CDM roles & responsibilities.
  • IT skills, including SAP.
  • HNC qualified.
