Development of proximate and remote sensing tools

  • Scout for new developments of digital technologies in/or beyond agriculture and with potential to be used in Crop Protection Development trials
  • Build internal network with stakeholders working in remote/proximate sensing and image analysis from all different functions (R&D, Marketing, Sales, IS) and levels (Global, Regions, BUs, countries)
  • Develop and implement apps for digital assessments of weeds/diseases/insects and crop parameters in Crop Protection trials in field and glasshouse environments
  • Scout and implement technologies for metadata collection
  • Drive digital data capturing initiatives
  • Building collaborations and partnerships with external collaborators

Leading the BITS product teams

  • Lead deployment of digital and data analytic tools in CPD
  • Provides the tool & IT landscape/infrastructure view, including interdependencies between BITS products
  • Sponsor or Lead workshops/ webinars to share best practices and provide trainings
  • Close collaboration with EAME CRO Management, Data Quality and Data Science teams.

Qualifications

  • M.S. degree (or similar) with 4 years relevant experience or Ph.D. degree with 2 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in agricultural or plant-science related field of study (Agronomy, Horticulture, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Weed Science, Biology).
  • Experienced in different software development concepts and methodologies (waterfall, agile)
  • Broad understanding of digital tools & landscape
  • Initiative and creativity to identify and adapt the best practices (across different industries)
  • Good background of agriculture basics
  • Preferred: Some experience in image analysis software and application of artificial intelligence/machine learning
