To support this challenge, we are currently seeking a NA CP Exposure Analytics Lead. As a NA CP Exposure Analytics Lead you will:

  • Lead the CP Exposure Analytics Team in NA. 
  • Work closely with the Head CP Exposure Science NA and Global Product Safety counterparts to develop best in class technical capabilities in exposure analytics and related study management activities.
  • Partner with regional PS Portfolio Leads/Managers, NA Exposure science counterparts and business stakeholders to determine the residues for inclusion in exposure methodology.
  • Develop regional study management strategies and workflows in NA that enable overall exposure science deliverables.  
  • Work across regional Science Delivery platforms and functions to ensure development of coherent and credible science to gain and maintain product registrations.

Accountabilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership to the CP Exposure Analytics team in the NA Exposure Science platform.
  • Partner across NA PS Exposure Science teams (Exposure Project Experts and Exposure Study Management) to ensure successful delivery of business objectives and accountabilities.
  • Manage the planning and placement of analytical studies and activities in collaboration with the regional Portfolio and Operations teams.
  • Provide cohesive delivery of analytical methodologies and ongoing agile support for new AI development, PLCM and regional issues management.
  • Manage and maintain internal laboratory capabilities and capacity to support regional needs.
  • Assess current ways of working with peer functions for continuous improvement of ways-of-working to streamline and optimize delivery.
  • Engage and partner with regional contract research organizations (CROs) to ensure capabilities and capacity meets business requirements.
  • Stay connected with evolving analytical and laboratory technologies, with strategic evaluation and implementation as appropriate.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a strong global analytical community, connecting and ensuring a high level of engagement with the regional Exposure Analytics team
  • Provide analytical support to the regional Customer Care Center
  • Ensure above-region and in-region alignment across relevant functions
  • Ensure that succession and key talent individual development plans in place for all staff and effective recruitment strategies are in place to assure sustainable development of the platform.
  • Proactively contribute to the strategic direction of NA CP Exposure Science across its leadership team
  • Ensure that the Syngenta purpose, values and leadership model are well understood, promoted, and modelled across the Product Safety organization.

 


Qualifications

  • Expertise and understanding of analytical methods and guidance for the support of dietary and environmental field studies (i.e., crop residue, terrestrial field dissipation, interlaboratory validation, storage stability, etc..).
  • Broad understanding of dietary and environmental exposure study conduct for crop protection product registration.
  • Ability to manage highly complex work programs and drive the best outcome by effectively working with diverse regional and global internal stakeholders (Regulatory & Stewardship, Operations, Portfolio, Product Biology, etc.) and external partners (CROs, consultancies, trade associations, scientific institutes, etc.).

Essential:

  • An advanced degree in analytical chemistry or other relevant scientific field
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience managing technical teams, including quantitative analytical laboratory functions.
  • Broad knowledge of the techno-regulatory environment including government authorities, academia and key influencers, capable of high-level judgement and influencing.
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing or monitoring analytical studies conducted at CROs.
  • Strong publication record of relevant quantitative analytical methods.
  • Proven ability to manage complexity and ambiguity and resolve business-critical issues in a collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business deliverables.
  • Skilled in workflow and process improvement with the ability to effectively drive and manage change.
