Material Controller

We have an excellent opportunity in Grangemouth for a Material Controller. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to); 

• Offloading and loading hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste in tankers or packages.  
• Carrying accurate stocktaking of Bulk storage vessels, Packages Chemicals, and New packages, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.  
• Following Process Instructions and Process Operating Instructions step by step and completing the critical information.  
• Transferring packages to the production plants in line with production demand, ensuring the correct paperwork is raised and completed accurately and in full.  
• Supporting routine waste procedure from initiation to transferring to the Hazard Slab, including updating the appropriate spread sheets.  
• Requesting raw material from the warehouse to support production demands.  
• Complying with local and site Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures whilst carrying out all activities associated with the role.  
• Carrying out structured monitoring daily for area of responsibility  
• Inspecting, recording and loading of completed Active Ingredients to the applicable trailers ready for transferring to warehouse.   

Qualifications and required experience 

• Previous experience of stocktaking, loading and off-loading  vehicles and bulk tankers  
• Current Fork Lift Truck Driving Licence [awarded by ABA member awarding body; Course should satisfy nationally recognised criteria (ITSSAR or RTITB)]  
• Previous experience of operating to the appropriate HSE standards on a Chemical Site   
• Computer and system literate, including MS Office and Excel   
• Planning and organisational skills including the ability to multitask 
• Good communication and teamwork skills 
• Understanding of COSHH regulations 
• Flexibility to work shifts

Syngenta's Grangemouth Manufacturing Centre is one of our two award-winning manufacturing sites in the UK. The site was founded in 1919 and today employs nearly 400 skilled people in a variety of roles that include manufacturing, engineering, scientific and production support. Our goal is to operate “safely, reliably and cost effectively” and to help growers protect their crops and increase their yield. 

At Syngenta Grangemouth we have four plants dedicated to active ingredient (AI) manufacture, and one finished product formulation and packaging plant with the most recent facility opening in May 2010.
