Responsibilities

Leadership and Organization

  • Provide leadership to the individuals and teams in line with the behaviors outlined in the Syngenta Leadership Model
  • Champion and deploy the Syngenta Talent Management and People processes to recruit, engage and develop high quality talent, and effectively manage organizational succession
  • Foster a high performance culture by promoting integrated and inclusive ways of working, role-modelling the Syngenta values, and leveraging Syngenta’s Frameworks and backbone
  • Develop and support a culture of process excellence, optimization and simplicity though effective partnering with support functions.
  • Champion compliance and risk management in Syngenta, role-modelling the Code of Conduct across the commercial organization by operating prescribed governance practices and structures.
  • Create and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all employees through an uncompromising commitment to health, safety and environmental excellence

Strategy Accountabilities

  • Define overall marketing strategy for the defined territory. Work closely with senior managers on crops / customer / solutions / assets, to understand the specific needs of customers, growers and market
  • Drive the business growth in collaboration with the Commercial team, Crop development team, Regulatory team and other functions
  • Proactively support the new product introduction process. Strategize and oversee the execution of marketing campaigns (crop / channel / grower) and grower market segmentation
  • Develop a digital marketing strategy and stimulate further development of digital communication channels
  • Ensure delivery of grower and channel value proposition including incentives (KPls) in line with channel roles, needs & capabilities
  • Design & implement effective CRM strategies
  • Develop and monitor market intelligence, bringing in customer insight into Business Area Middle East Strategy
  • Surveys on markets (segments, users, sales channels and competition), analysis of the data and identification of positive opportunities
  • Drive the 5-year planning process for the relevant countries

Overarching accountabilities

  • Ensure that all relevant Syngenta processes and policies are well understood and implemented by the team and, where necessary, by customers
  • Ensure compliance with commercial policy of the Commercial Unit, HSE requirements, local legislation and competition law
  • Promote the image of Syngenta, representing the Company with legal authorities, industrial associations, and all relevant institutional entities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agriculture, business studies or equivalent
  • 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably within agricultural industry or similar
  • Experience with Crop Protection products would be a plus
  • Experience with Strategy development and implementation
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and presentation skills, ability to negotiate and convince based on complex data / research materials
  • Capability to work in cross-functional and multicultural teams with experience of change management
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Open-minded and technology-oriented
  • Confident MS Office user with advanced skills in Excel
  • Fluent English
