Job description

Join our Data Manufacturing Excellence and Chemistry Research teams as a Data Analytics Intern. We offer two internships: one optimizing global production processes for cost and sustainability, and another enhancing chemical target selection in research.

Both projects use cutting-edge Bayesian statistical modeling techniques to improve decision-making. You'll develop predictive models to boost manufacturing efficiency and candidate selection accuracy.

This opportunity provides exposure to real-life data from research and production, involves high-impact projects on operational efficiency and sustainability, and offers insight into a large organization's research and manufacturing operations.

Ideal for those passionate about data analysis, data science, and development.

Planned duration of the internship: 4-6 months starting from March 2025.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work with Research and Production departments
  • Develop a methodology to optimize cost, sustainability impact and chemical yield
  • Work on a concrete case study, on one of our Active Ingredient currently on market
  • Identify key drivers of chemical process to be optimized
  • Analyze variable production cost data from 5 international manufacturing sites based in UK, Switzerland, France, USA & Brazil
  • Develop predictive models to anticipate cost variations
  • Build predictive models in R or Python (eg using PyMC and SciPy optimize packages for Bayesian inference)
  • Create and maintain data flows and interactive dashboards to visualize variable product cost KPIs
  • Participate in the development of decision support tools for cost optimization
  • Collaborate with international teams to standardize data collection and analysis practices
  • Make larger analysis on other sites including 5 sites in UK, Switzerland, France, USA & Brazil
