Main Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with line managers to provide advice on day-to-day people issues such as investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, performance management and absence management.
  • Support line managers and employees in navigating HR Systems, policies and processes.
  • Provide support to the two Site HRBPs to drive strategic people initiatives through the Research and Development organization as required.  For example, working on the site mentoring scheme, help drive early talent programs, diversity and inclusion initiatives etc.
  • Support the HRBPs to drive annual people processes such as performance management, compensation cycle and talent development.
  • Produce regular monthly reporting as required, together with analysis.
  • Conduct physical onsite right to work checks on a Monday morning, when required.

We are looking for the ability to:

  • Manage a highly varied workload ensuring continuous delivery across a broad spectrum of activities
  • Build effective relationships at all levels and work in a confidential environment
  • Think through complex problems and determine solutions
  • Confidently communicate both verbally and in writing with a strong command of English
  • Comfortably work in an onsite and virtual environment (role requires at least 3 days a week onsite)

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

  • At least 3 years HR generalist experience across a broad remit
  • Experience of managing employee relation issues and a strong understanding of UK employment law and legislation
  • Proven stakeholder management expertise and customer service mindset
  • Experience of building reports and analyzing different data sources
  • Solid experience of using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook as well as virtual collaboration systems such as Zoom and HR people management tools
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written

Desirable:

  • Previous experience with Workday
  • CIPD qualified or working towards
  • Previous experience of working in a global or large corporate organization

Company Description

Our Syngenta Research & Development (R&D) Human Resource (HR) team have an opportunity for an HR Generalist, perhaps you are 3 years out of education and looking for your next role, or more experienced and looking for a generalist position, we are open to both.

Part of a small team you will report to our HR Site Lead and assist one other HRBP, you will provide generalist HR support and guidance to line managers and employees across the R&D site to enable the effective management of people and related processes.  You will also help the wider UK HR function as needed, with the chance to work on exciting projects.
