As a Global Category Manager Energy & Utilities, you will be the part of our Europe Regional Category Management Team, which supports the Energy & Utilities Category and contribute to our Europe Indirect Procurement Team based in UK (Manchester), HU (Budapest) or Iberia (Madrid).

In this role, you’ll develop sustainable procurement strategies aligned with business needs, provide strategic direction to a wide range of Business Partners within the organization and cultivate strong stakeholder relationships while also managing market fluctuations and ensure operational compliance to achieve targeted cost reductions within your category. With your expert knowledge of the external supply market, you’ll play an essential role in global and regional procurement strategy development.

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree, commercial and/or technical qualification e.g. MBA or equivalent.
  • Strong procurement experience, a proven background and track record in a strategic senior Energy & Utilities Procurement role, ideally obtained in a multi-national environment
  • Experience in development and application of fixed and flexible purchasing and hedging strategies in a multifunction and complex business environment (working with cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams)
  • Proven ability to evaluate energy markets, utility tariffs, policies, power and gas contracts and understanding of government legislation and schemes
  • Knowledge of internal purchasing procedures and processes as well as external trends and best practices
  • Ability to develop performance measures for categories with stakeholders and costumers
  • Strong skills in communication, relationship building, and project execution with a collaborative mindset

This role can be based in multiple Syngenta sites across Europe including Manchester, Madrid and Budapest.
