Group Internal Communications 

  • In conjunction with Group Communications colleagues, develop and deliver engaging Group-wide corporate internal communications on key topics such as financial results, strategic announcements and key events 
  • Develop and implement a content and channel strategy that reflects audience needs 
  • Develop and implement Group-wide campaigns (e.g. Sustainability, Diversity and Inclusion, Health Safety & Environment) and engage employees on key Group change and transformation programs 
  • Coordinate with Group Communications colleagues and ensure the communicators in the four business units (BUs) are informed about plans and have opportunity to contribute, as appropriate  
  • Further build the Syngenta Group culture and engage employees around the corporate positioning and stories 
  • Support the positioning of Syngenta Group as an attractive employer of choice for existing and new talents – as part of the Group HR strategy but also more broadly for the Group Functions 
  • Drive collaboration, contribute to continuous learning and innovation within the team  
  • Continuously fine-tune Group Internal Communications activities by keeping track of pre-defined success measures 

 

Communications Business Partnering to Group Functions and Leaders 

  • Provide business partnering support for the communications activities of select Group leaders internally and externally, as appropriate, coordinating with other team members and Group Communications colleagues as required to develop targeted and compelling communication content  
  • Develop, advise and help implement a communications calendar with initiative / activities for selected Group Corporate Functions in agreement with the respective Function Head and in collaboration with the team  
  • Manage the implementation of communications best practices / processes that help leaders engage their stakeholder groups and build two-way dialogue  
  • Help measure communications through key output and outcomes metrics 

Qualifications

  • Several years of extensive experience in communications and working with senior stakeholders 
  • Degree in Communications or a related discipline (preferably a Masters) 
  • Experience working within a decentralized matrix in a complex global organization; experience working with cross-functional/cross-cultural/virtual/hybrid teams  
  • Experience developing communication strategies to address complex business challenges and driving transformations 
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development and implementation  
  • Track record influencing and driving solutions with senior leadership 
  • Proven experience in working with topic / subject matter experts in the business 
  • Proven partnering and coaching skills, particularly for executive stakeholders (added benefit if the individual has people management experience) 
  • Experience in partnering with external parties to drive and deliver results 
  • Market and business understanding 
  • Cultural awareness  
  • Experience with organizational change principles and the human side of change  
  • Strong networking and influencing capabilities; stakeholder and influencer management  
  • Proven program and project management experience; strong prioritization capabilities  
  • Experience in agile ways of working 
  • Superior oral and written communications skills in English; other languages like Chinese are particularly valuable and recognized as an asset 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Purpose:  

  • We are looking for a senior communications partner within the Group Communications team to help drive and manage communications for Syngenta Group Functions (e.g., Finance, Human Resources, IT & Digital, Sustainability) and their leaders in support of the Group’s business strategy  
  • The individual will focus on developing and implementing engaging communications for Group Internal Communications activities 
  • Additionally, the individual will advise on and lead strategic communications relating to Group Functions and their respective leaders internally and externally
