About This Job

The Flower Trial Planner is responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring of execution and logistics of all trials on site (e.g.: R&D, starter material, marketing, technical team, etc.).

Accountabilities
Flower Trial Planner

  • Overall accountability for trial planning for each of the site greenhouses, hoop houses, and fields facilities.
  • Develop yearly schedules for space usage based on facility functionality, R&D and production needs, and crop requirements.
  • Develop monthly, and daily schedules for sowing, growing, crop management, pollination, seed harvest, etc…
  • Work with all key stakeholders (e.g.: breeders, scientists, product managers, marketing, sale, etc,,,) to ensure the proactive resolution of all challenges, with the primary aim of preserving the expected end date of every trials as much as possible.
  • Primary point of contact for all planning and capacity related requests for the site.
  • Manage the site capacity planning process by maintaining site KPI’s related to trialing
  • Works with local operational management in leading operational meetings.
  • Maintain overview of site planned capacity vs attainable capacity, including historical overview
  • Enter and maintain trial requests in the planning tool and if needed also off system.
  • By working with growers, ensure customer satisfaction indexing obtained through tracking adherences to desired delivery dates and crop quality.
  • Provide proactive information to relevant stakeholders
  • Act as the primary contact for enquiries for all crops at site, managing short term amendments / imbalances in the plans.
  • Participate in site capacity planning process by maintaining an up-to-date plan, timely communication of KPI reports and providing timely updates around challenges as they arise.
  • Performing all tasks and behaving in a manner compliant with and in support of all safety related company policies and practices, including completing all required Company training courses and attending local safety meetings.

 


Qualifications

  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience in an agriculture, manufacturing or business related field.
  • Experience with or understanding of capacity planning.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Trial Planner  

  • Promote less reliance for off system databases, spreadsheets, and email.
  • Proactively interact with intra / inter departments to ensure understanding and compliance with schedules.
  • Proactively manage data entry and collect and report information relating to site operations
  • Proactively analyze processing data looking for trends, improvements, efficiencies, and favorable economics.

  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft products, Visio flow charting, SharePoint and QMS database

Physical demands of the essential functions:  
Combined office, shop floor and fieldwork activities are involved.  The fieldwork requires moderate lifting, good mobility, and some travel.
Working conditions while performing essential functions:  
While performing the job functions, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and approved agriculture chemicals and environmental conditions such as extreme heat or cold temperatures.
