To support that challenge, Syngenta’s Treasury Team is currently seeking a Financial Analyst.  This role will assist in the management of the company’s benefit plans (Defined Benefit, Retiree Medical, and 401k) along with providing additional support to daily Treasury functions of the office.

Accountabilities:

  • Performs daily cash desk and pension activities including reporting prior day cash actuals.
  • Reconciles benefit plan(s) assets with custodian on a monthly basis, investigates/resolves differences.
  • Reviews accuracy of benefit plan(s) invoices and coordinates payments.
  • Responsible for benefit plan(s) balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Collaborates with external and internal stakeholders, ensures that the ERISA, Mid-Year, and Year-End reporting are accurate, and deadlines are met.
  • Administratively supports the Syngenta Political Action Committee ensuring compliance with Federal Election Committee and State regulations.
  • As needed, works with team to back-up key activities related to liquidity planning and cash forecasting.
  • Provides ad-hoc support for the NA Crop Protection finance as needed demonstrating ownership from inception to completion.
  • Perform bank services quality monitoring and supports the banking integration of newly acquired entities.

This role is viewed as a growth and learning position.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Accounting and/or Finance preferred)
  • 1 to 3 years of Financial experience.  Recent Graduate with Internship is acceptable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • All applicants must be able to work in the US without sponsorship from Syngenta now or in the future.
  • Must also be comfortable with presenting to small groups and speaking to varying levels of management

Preferred Requirements:

  • Prior Experience with SAP and Treasury Management Systems is preferred
  • Familiarity with Excel functions: vlookup, hlookup, pivot tables, etc.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and broad asset classes
  • Basic understanding of cash forecasting, In-House Bank, and other corporate treasury operations
  • Demonstrates independence and ownership and the ability /willingness to perform daily operational activities for the treasury team
  • Curious learner comfortable in working in ambiguity in a complex matrix organization
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in small team environment with a focus on deadlines is crucial
