As part of Syngenta Canada, the Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the delivery of our financial commitments and target tracking, providing advice to improve the financial health of the Seeds Canada business, P&L management, forecast accuracy, and identification of early change signals.
This Financial Analyst position has a flexible work location and can be based remotely across Canada.
Qualifications
Accountabilities
- Provide support and execution to financial activities within the Seeds Canada business; including annual budgeting, monthly & yearly forecasting, actual spend monitoring, monthly variance reporting, cost center review and adjustments
- Provide analysis and insight to inform the Seeds Leadership team in the budget and business planning processes
- Support Seed team in monthly, quarterly and year end accounting activities/entries and cost reallocations, preparing regular and ad-hoc journal entries, reconciliations, clearing reviews, and accruals
- Collect inputs from, build presentations for, drive clarity, create insights and gain buy-in and commitment to future financial direction with Seed Leadership Team
- Understand and support the execution of business strategies and priorities through understanding investment requirements and assumptions with Seed Leadership Team and providing necessary insight
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience working in a related role
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong Analytical background and/or Finance related experience
- Experience working in a matrix environment and with virtual/remote teams
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, regular presentation of data stories to cost center owners, Function heads, Seeds Leadership Team, and US Finance teams
- Proactively seeks opportunities for process improvement as well as personal development/growth
