Finance manager West Africa

• To support short, medium and long term financial planning and monitoring, and facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of business goals with sound financial analysis and advice
• To support in timely and robust reporting practices by the team (month-end, half-year; year-end)
• To actively participate in commercial and financial decision making processes and focus the commercial organization on the key operational constraints (financial budget, resources and timelines)

• Being accountable for all financial matters within the BA, encompassing areas such as Controlling, Accounting, adherence to Local statutory requirements, Treasury operations, compliance, and Taxation.
• Acting as a Finance Business Partner to the WA BA Commercial team: offering strategic financial guidance and support to both the Commercial and Purchasing teams
  • To support short-, medium- and long-term financial planning and monitoring, and facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of business goals with sound financial analysis and advice.
  • To support in timely and robust reporting practices by the team (month-end, half-year, year-end)
  • To actively participate in commercial and financial decision-making processes and focus the commercial organization on the key operational constraints (financial budget, resources, and timelines)
  • Leading the management of working capital and capital expenditure (Capex) to optimize financial resources.
• Directing and overseeing all financial and related activities of the business, ensuring the protection and proper utilization of company assets to promote profitable growth.
• Coordinate Finance services with European Finance Operation center (Europe & India) and outside service provider.
• Ensure integrity of the countries compliance program with corporate and local policies and procedures
• Identifying and reporting any breaches or deviations from established standards, practices, codes of conduct, legal requirements, or other forms of misconduct to the appropriate management within Syngenta.

Experience required for the job*

• Multiyear Finance Business Partnering
• Experience in Finance Controlling (finance operations and BP)
• Experience in business practice in West Africa

Minimum education and critical knowledge required for the job

• Finance certification (either as a degree at University or as a widely recognized qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA)
• Knowledge of languages is an important enabler in communicating with local countries (French & English)
