At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds and crop protection innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. We are currently seeking a contract Entry Level Programmer, for our North America Seeds team in Salinas or Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico. As the Entry Level Programmer, you will enhance the prosperity of farmers by: 

  • Designing and managing the website back-end including database and server integration.
  • Work with WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Conducting website performance tests.
     

Qualifications

Accountabilities  

  • Troubleshooting content issues.
  • Conducting WordPress training and documentation with the client.
  • Monitoring the performance of the live website.
  • Provide expertise in design, development and implementation of live data reports and analytics systems.
  • Performs hands-on analysis, design, development, and deployment of solutions.
  • Establishes standards and guidelines for coding, performance optimization, documentation, and end user support.
  • Keeps up to date on database Syngenta products and technologies.
  • Assists and provides direction to co-workers in using new techniques and in solving their more complex technical problems.
  • Participate and provide advice on business requirements gathering sessions with non- technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in either Information Systems, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • Advanced knowledge of database structure and theory.
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server Reporting Services Knowledge and experience using IIS, SSL, Oracle & SQL databases.
  • Experience with Wordpress is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; comfort and competence in dealing with various levels of the organization.
  • Strong, effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and data mining skills.
