Role Profile

You will undertake hands-on electrical installation and maintenance of Syngenta assets including equipment and buildings with an aim to reduce the MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) and increase the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure).

Accountabilities

  • You will be required to do hands on installation and maintenance of electrical equipment    
  • You will conduct preventive maintenance as specified 
  • You will design and review blue-prints of new installations     
  • You will record and maintain weekly/monthly records of all electrical data and submit to the Electrical Senior Supervisor   
  • You will ensure Health,Safety & Environment procedures are followed during actualization of works
  • You will ensure Phytosanitary rules and regulations are adhered to at all times 
  • You will advise the supervisor on bill of quantities and availability of materials needed for repairs and new projects.
  • You will ensure that piping and wiring complies with electrical codes.

Qualifications

Critical Knowledge

  • Diploma in Electrical and Electronics engineering from a recognized institution
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, PLC and SCADA is an added advantage
  • Ability to analyse electrical SLD blueprints and drawings
  • Strong knowledge of machines and equipment.

Critical Experience

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in handling electrical systems installation and maintenance
  • Knowledge of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems
  •  Experience in steam boiler operation and maintenance  
  • Flexibility to attend on emergencies on short notice.

Critical Leadership capabilities

  • Team player and good at time management
  •  Exceptional communication and organisational skills 
  • Display accountability, proactive behaviour, and strong attention to detail
