Role purpose

  • To lead and manage the Regional Direct Procurement function in Asia countries : (Direct includes the following categories: Co-formulants (including Seed Treatment), Packaging, Logistics , third party formulations, Tolling , and professional solutions.
  • To lead the packaging category for the region and guide the in scope countries  on implementing quality and process standards aligning with the global packing improvement program.
  • To ensure the Direct Procurement activities are in support of the Syngenta business, Crop Protection Business  Strategy  and P&S priorities , and enable Syngenta competitiveness and growth. To ensure security of quality supply at a competitive price.
  • To ensure all operations are conducted according to Syngenta Code of Conduct and compliance requirements.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure a Direct Procurement strategy exists and is under implementation across the Region. The strategy must be in support of the overall Syngenta Crop Protection strategy, the P&S strategy .
  • Ensure Procurement is being executed to enable Syngenta to be competitive and to outperform the competition (Delivery meets budget).
  • Ensure a team is established, motivated and capable to deliver the Direct Procurement strategy. All members must have individual objectives, performance reviews, career and capability development plans.
  • Ensure alignment with the Global packaging team and be a member of the Direct (for the mentioned scope above) Global packaging network.
  • Ensure the Business Partnering model is understood and being executed in support of the new cross-functional ways of working.
  • To leverage the Procurement Centres of Expertise to maximize performance, to ensure efficiency, and to be aligned with the broader Procurement function.
  • Ensure compliance requirements and being adhered to.

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

 

  • Master level of Sourcing/ Business
  • Strategy setting and delivery
  • Team management (cross functional and multi cultural)
  • Project management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A strong interest and aptitude for interpretation of industry development and market analysis
  • Business Ethics

Critical experience

  • Agronomy / Chemical/ Business degree is preferred
  • Chemical industry experience is preferred
  • Demonstrable sourcing and team management experience

  • Motivational and inspirational
  • Demonstrated coaching & influencing competence
  • Communication, forms concise and clear messages
  • Results Orientated
  • Positive attitude to change and progress
