Role Purpose:

  • As the Digital Experience Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of customer experience experts and product managers in the design, development, and implementation of digital solutions that enhance the customer journey and drive engagement. Together with your team, you will define Syngenta’s digital experience strategy and ensure that it aligns with broader business objectives. You will provide guidance and support to securing resources, managing budgets, and communicating the value of digital experience initiatives to other stakeholders within the organization.
  • Partnering with the respective IT teams, you will define Syngenta’s global Digital Experience Platform approach, drive development, and secure its effective operations. You and your team will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, delivery, business teams and other Digital Marketing squads, to define platform requirements and ensure that solutions are developed and implemented in accordance with best practices and are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of digital experience platform architecture and technology, experience managing a team of Product Managers, and a proven track record of delivering innovative and effective digital solutions that meet business objectives. The platform manager will also have strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

As the industry gradually shifts from traditional to more digital marketing approaches, this role will play a crucial role in achieving our business goals and objectives by supporting this transformation within Syngenta. This includes a shift in mindset across global and local teams, implementation of strong processes, country support for campaigns execution and enablement with digital marketing tools.
  • The Digital Marketing organization works with the CP business but also enables Syngenta Seeds and our Digital products and services, such as Cropwise. The team works alongside the global product marketing teams to enable new product launches and regular marketing campaigns with a digital first mindset.

Accountabilities:

  • Define Syngenta’s digital experience strategy and ensure that it aligns with broader business objectives.
  • Create Syngenta’s digital experience platform approach, roadmap and leading its implementation in partnership with IT.
  • Understand business challenges and customer pain points, as well as required outcomes, manages business and customer expectations, and drives the change process.
  • Leads a team of customer experience experts and product managers in the design, development, and implementation of digital solutions that enhance the customer journey and drive engagement.
  • Lead global customer data capture and lead management (awareness, consideration, conversion and retention) processes.
  • Monitor and analyse customer behaviour, interactions, engagement, and impact on current platforms and identify areas to adjust and future investment needs.
  • Develop and implement a global approach towards mapping customer journeys (current and desired) and highlight key touchpoints where service design and/or software user interface / user experience will increase customer value and create and maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Implement minimum viable products together with selected pilot customers and subsequent solution productizing and scaling -Reporting on business success by closely measuring and reporting KPIs against agreed business growth targets.
  • 4-5 reports (plus working with IT tech and delivery teams in agile set-up).

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience working in/with digital marketing and marketing technology.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the digital marketing technologies and how they integrate, incl. overall DXP architecture, web publishing, CMS, DAM, SFDC, Analytics & Dashboarding tools, SEO tools, customer engagement tools, Digital Marketing and social media channels, etc.
  • An empathetic and experienced leader and willing mentor.
  • Experience with digital personalization, A/B testing and leveraging technology in general, e.g., SFDC/Marketing Cloud.
  • Extensive experience working with global Marketing Automation/IT teams, external vendors, in-market Digital Marketing teams.
  • An innovative thinker with a solution-oriented approach and driving agile ways of working.
  • Is confident in pitching and speaking to senior executives.
  • An entrepreneurial thinker with aspirations to grow an in-house team.
  • Experience with change management and digital transformation.
  • Experience in working in large-scale, global organizations with a matrix organization / strong ability to navigate/influence stakeholders.
  • Outstanding ability to understand markets, customer behavior (B2B and B2B2C) and structure analysis.
  • Dedicated team player, able to work in cross functional environment, strong in building and maintaining relationships.
  • Problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of agriculture digital is a plus.
