Role Purpose

  • As a key member of the Marketing Team you will play an integral part in the promotion and delivery of knowledge through information. 
  • You will provide support to the Commercial Team, by providing information that supports development of innovative marketing strategies and campaigns through coordinating defined market research activities. 
  •  Expertise in developing, implementing and managing market research/customer survey projects will ensure a successful outcome to the project. 
  •  Play a key role in ensuring that the 5 year Marketing planning process is delivered within the specified timelines and is signed off by the FC business head.
  • Work closely with FC Leadership team to coordinate the development and implementation of Crop Portfolio strategies through forums such as FCLT meetings.

Accountabilities :

  • Own the management of defined market research projects so as to ensure that the goals of the sponsors/teams are met and the projects are delivered to time.
  • Coach Marketing and Sales staff to ensure they utilise the research findings to improve implementation effectiveness.
  • Run effective customer survey/audit (retailer, grower, distributor) through internal teams/external vendors on Syngenta panel; Publish outcome in desired form which will help in making business decisions
  • Own & manage survey & customer data  
  • Ensure that relationships with key agency contacts are managed optimally and that Syngenta is receiving best value. Seek to develop the agencies and methods of research that are undertaken so as to always innovate the ways in which we research the market.
  • Challenge and manage MR expenditure to maximise value, negotiating with Suppliers to benefits from collective purchasing.
  • Analyze information to provide insights from a country perspective into the country commercial strategy and for regional reporting as required.
  • Provision of market and customer insight to all areas of the business utilising multiple data sources increasingly from digital platforms such as DMS, SFDC, Pragati.  Through a detailed understanding of the requirements of your customers, you will provide information from appropriate sources in a format that is appropriate and timely.
  • Challenge the providers of syndicated panel to ensure that the data provided is seen as accurate to our business.
  • Spearhead the collaboration opportunities with other companies in industry
  • As part of the Commercial Team, you will seek to develop methodologies that will allow us to better capture and measure the results from most cost effective means including the use of digital platforms that we are achieving in the marketplace from our marketing activities.
  • Facilitate the development, implementation and critical decision making of FC portfolio direction through appropriate forums such as FCLT as guided by FC Seed Head and Commercial Effectiveness Lead.  

Qualifications

  • Well organized and a strong attention to detail – ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and ability to handle large data from multiple sources
  • Leadership and ability to coach staff
  • Ability to work effectively with people across different functions

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

Critical knowledge:

  • Masters in Business, Marketing, Agribusiness or a related discipline
  • Ability to develop detailed knowledge of the agribusiness market and the value chain players
  • Strategic Marketing principles
  • Market research principles and best practice
  • Insight into customer needs

Critical experience:

  • Minimum three-four years’ experience in marketing/sales/project management environment
  • Strategy development and implementation
  • Track record of building strong customer relations
  • Working cooperatively in a team and in a cross-functional way to achieve optimal results
