Role purpose
• Lead the country Trialing team - ensure high quality work slate delivery in accordance to protocol ensuring timeliness and budget delivery for trialing activities.
• Plan and execute annual trial programs in coordination with regional biology team and Portfolio Leadership team with focus on the profiling excellence in close to market conditions.
• Responsible for up scaling tools of trade and application technology, agronomy in off-site trailing operations working closely with SME.
• Develop people and capabilities.

Accountabilities
• To plan work scheduling and execution of the trials plan, work with FB and stakeholders in standardization and process evolution
• To ensure trials execution systematically across the crops/assets/locations by monitoring status on monthly or on need basis.
• To prepare annual trials budget in line with crops/indication and expected 3rd party trials
• To generate high quality data to help identify and recommend new products/ indications with assured performance in a given geography or environment.
• To set the team targets (no. of trials) and area coverage while driving further evolution of teams.
• Ensure effective stakeholder relationship management with regional Product Biology, regulatory, PnS, Technical Support, Seed Product Development, Crop Protection Product Development, Marketing and Sales teams.
• Plan and ensure registration trials or co-ordinate 3P/ CRO trials in state run Institute with availability of reports as per timeline.
• Plan Trialing Excellence program for team for increasing operational excellence.
• Actively input in protocol development and experimental design; ensure timely, high-quality data entry, analyses, and reporting
• Ensure resistance Monitoring and related research
• As needed support for Sales and Marketing by providing product performance enquiries that require specific agronomic and product knowledge.
• Implement global / regional change program and process collaboration and implementation at country level.
• Ensure compliance with Syngenta legal and local guidelines across trialing operations.
• Actively represent country trialing team in regional and global network.
• Align and execute digital tool like BITS- bioplan, biodesign etc at regular basis.

• Liaison and execute with regional biology team to ensure quality trials at regular basis.
• Execute digital trials to meet the market dynamics
• Acquainted with new technology and share with internal team specially sales and marketing


Qualifications

Critical knowledge
• M.Sc.Ag. Preferably a Ph.D. in Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Horticulture or closely related discipline, with demonstrated success in applied field research.
• In depth understanding of technical aspects of crops, agronomy and pests and agro-chemicals
• Efficient in program planning and execution with proper Human Resource Management
• Extensive knowledge of Agricultural Statistics and Design of experiments.
• Team building and good communication skills.
• Experience in team management required with a focus on cross functional teams

Critical experience
• 5-10 years working experience as Agronomist, trialist, Breeder and Regional Manager in trialing
• Deeper understanding of crops, pests, agrochemicals and technical aspects.
• Ability to build relationship and execute in a complex and broad geography and peoples, with a focus on operational excellence.
