Role purpose

 

  • Lead the CENTRIGO™ Centre or cluster of Centres in the assigned geography
  • Need to manage the Centre as a P&L, where by manage the operations and commercial activities with the assigned team, farmers and partners – channel, value chain and service partners
  • Motivate and drive the team to improve the yield and quality of the produce for farmers, have extremely close relationship with the farmers and drive overall efficiency in the farm
  • Drive the sustainability agenda with traceability tools
  • Manage expenses and income of the centre/centres through various revenue streams
  • Increase the penetration of CENTRIGO™ farmers and create a community where by trust is developed
  • Drive integrity and values of Syngenta in the market place
  • Train team and build capabilities for effective relationship management and right agronomy practices
  • Be an inspiration to the organization to elevate CENTRIGO’s purpose (farmer-centricity, modernizing agriculture, soil health, healthier and safer food)

 

Accountabilities

  • Manage P&L of the centre, make sure that the expenses are controlled and have relative benefits to the revenue generated
  • Manage and train the team of Farm and Farmer Officer
  • Lead and train the team on agronomy and soft skills for enhancing farmer relationship
  • Manage key relationships with farmers, channel partners, value chain partners, service providers, mandi merchants
  • Manage the output payments to the farmers and help negotiate a win win with value chain sourcing team
  • Make sure that farmers are adhering to the sustainable farming practices that have been advised by the agronomy team
  • Provide full support to the value chain sourcing team and make sure that their needs are met, also manage farmers requirements based on their pain points
  • Lead community development of the specific strategic geography by conducting engagement events to elevate the brand equity of CENTRIGO™ and create enhanced engagement to develop an environment of Trust and integrity
  • Lead the financial acumen for Farmers and be able to support them to drive profitability with sustainable financial planning and discipline

  • Passion to support farmers and sustainably modernize agriculture across APAC
  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end farming and agronomy, Smart-ag practices and digital tools
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a digital bend

  • Be a key influencer in the farming and trading community, should be extremely good in external stakeholder management

  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with various stakeholders internally and externally
  • Ability to lead and drive technical relationships with value chain companies
  • Thought leader in Smart and modern ag practices
  • Provide strategic leadership, development and coaching for the NFE country organizations

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience, with a sound agronomic and commercial understanding of major crops across APAC, having experience in end-to-end farming, agronomy and agri-technologies
  • Understanding of Agribusiness strategies, trends and of the principles of value creation for growers.
  • Understanding of overall farming /value chain lifecycle (farm to fork)
  • Understanding of requirements of value chain companies and consumer needs
  • Be willing to take ownership of community and be able to drive them to the right direction
  • Be a natural people’s leader
  • Should be able to adapt fast and understand the assigned geography in-depth and create  close relationship with the farmer
  • Technical background with business acumen is strongly preferred
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams, to influence and set strategy
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment and matrix organization. Work experience at geography level or country level with another company.
  • Familiarity with information technology and data management with ability to use them to solve key farmers’ pain-points

 

     

     


    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Science or in a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Agribusiness area (practical experience in crop protection, agronomy, digital agri-technologies)
    • Experience with a value chain company leading a technical/agronomy team
    • Preferred if candidate has experience in agri operations, procurement and supply chain
    • Proven ability to lead, influence and build impactful relationships
